It's the only place around I can find Nueske's bacon. They have exceptional meats too. Expect very high prices though.

The deli is next to the City Market and opposite the Aspen Square building, very central. They've got amazing cuts of meat and fish as well as your usual deli items, every day they make fresh soups incl an good seafood chowder. The Butchers Block isn't cheap by any means but the quality is great

We went here to pick up some cheese and fish. We bought Chilean Sea Bass, and cooked it one day later, but either the fish was BAD or I'm one heck of a crapy cook (I beg to differ becasue I cook this at home ALL the time!). We did get some amazing cheese, Truffle Cheese which was to die for.

We also went here for lunch one day, ordered a Turkey sandwich w/ no extras (ie: chips, water) which costs $8.50. This was a bit pricey. I'd recommend you go to the local grocery store for cheese and other food items if you plan to cook yourself.

I wouldnt eat at this place. the sandwiches are OK, but will cost you tons of money. The locals in Aspen think of it as a rip off!! Go to Johnny McGuires instead! Or better yet, spend the same amount of money at a sit down restaurant!

Our first trip to Aspen and we had sticker shock! Restaurants were a little more pricey than what we were use to. The Butcher Block is not cheap either, but you get good quality food and great service for your money. They are an old fashioned Deli and meat market. You can get cookies, salads and drinks galore to go with your sandwich. The meats and seafood looked wonderful, wish we had a kitchen during our stay. If it weren't for them, The Wienerstube and The Hickory House we might have starved!
Definately go see any of them if you go to Aspen!
