Aspen Mountain (Ajax) is the jewel of the town both in the summer and in the winter! Best tough skiing and great summer hiking.

The view is beyond belief, the gondola ride smooth. The lodge at the top is a perfect place to enjoy selections from the full bar or a meal (decent) from the cafeteria.
Bluegrass musicians on the day we visited added a lot of enjoyment

This town and mountain was somewhat of a disappointment. The mountain is fun, but beware the end of the day "last run" to town. The mountain funnels to the bottom. Tired legs and bad skiers make this last run very dangerous.
Want to go out to eat at night? Bring a ton of money. And, if you don't own something made from dead animal fur, be prepared to have people look down on you.
My suggestion? Go ski in Summit county!

At the highest course in the world, free, and they provided discs. Food at the Sundeck was surprisingly good. Views of the Rockies don't get any better.

Went back a few times this July trip.
