My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and from the moment we walked in we were in heaven. The front desk staff was very nice and check in was a breeze. We stayed in a creekside suite that was immaculate. Our suite was upstairs and had a beautiful wood vaulted ceiling with a georgous chandelier. The living room had a fireplace, bar with sink and refridgerator, flatscreen TV, and a couch and chaise lounge. The bedroom had a fireplace, flatscreen TV and comfy robes in the closet. The bathroom had two sinks, a soaking tub and large seperate shower. On the large balcony there was a table for four and a Jacuzzi. Our room was completely private from the other rooms but had a view of the tree's and gazebo. This hotel is about 3 miles from the beach but we did not mind that at all as the setting was so lovely. I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat. We have traveled all over the world and if you are looking for a quiet little piece of paradise this is it!

My husband and I stayed in the Creekside suite, which was a beautifully appointed two-room suite with two fireplaces, plenty of furniture for lounging around, complimentary internet connection, a roomy balcony with a hot tub. The list goes on and on. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially the manager, Dustin. I was able to go wine tasting while my husband did some golfing. The Bob Jones trail is perfect for a morning stroll or jog and farmers market is wonderful on Friday evenings. We will be staying here again in the future.

We needed a break from our fierce summer heat in the desert so the coast seemed a good idea. Didn't want a big hotel or adjacent freeway, railroad, airport or noise. But we wanted First Class comfort and a pleasant setting at a reasonable cost.

We got it all right at the Avila Village Inn. It is however a few miles to the beaches and local restaurants (great seafood!) in Avila Beach, Port San Luis and Pismo Beach so you will need a car.

(Avila Village is a small complex of homes, leisure facilities and a quality general store situated in a tree-lined river valley about 3 miles inland from the ocean).

What a nice surprise..when we arrived, we had a hot fresh baked cookie and ice cold water with lemon..where do you get that? Our room was beautiful, clean, and very roomy. The balcony was small but all we needed was that hot tub!! The employees were so very pleasant and helpful. To be able to use the athletic club next door is a big plus, and even the breakfast was a plus. What a great place to stay!!!

We just spent a glorious 4 days in the Avila area resting each evening here. The rooms were clean and inviting with a fireplace, hottub and comfortable King size bed. We are allergic to feathers and the staff went out of their way to find us replacements. The breakfasts were filling with standard fare of rolls, cereals, oatmeal, juice and coffee. Another big thumbs up is the health club you can attend next door which includes 2 pools. It's not on the beach, so that makes it all the more affordable.

Living just an hour away in Solvang it seems that we've had to drive 2-3 hours to "get away". After accidently finding Avila Village Inn online we were offered a fantastic deal. Upon arriving you know that you are at someplace special. The air was clean and the trees and the.....ok on and on. Walking inside it seemed like a spa retreat that would cost several hundred dollars. The lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly. Checking out the room we could not believe the deal we were getting. As we walked outside to grab our luggage, my girlfriend and I shouted "Score!" We are anxious to come back and spend 2-3 days stuck in this gorgeous hidden gem!

This was the fourth place we stayed when driving the PCH from San Francisco to Los Angeles and it was a very pleasant surprise. We booked it as a halfway house between Big Sur and Santa Barbara, but would have happily stayed for another day or two.
This is not on the beach, but I am sure that you get much more for your buck here than on the boardwalk.
It is clean, friendly and has very sizeable rooms with excellent bathrooms. The air con is a little noisy and is definitely needed despite it being relatively cold outside.
The gym and swimming facilities are better than almost anywhere else I have ever stayed - particularly the pool. These are not part of the hotel, but you have free entrance and it is only next door. I woke up at 8am and went swimming in an outdoor laned 25-metre pool and was the only person in the pool. This was after a 5k run at the gym. I can't say I've ever had those facilities anywhere else and definitely not for the price we've paid.
The two or three people we spoke to on the desk were all excellent and genuinely friendly. They were happy to help at all times.
We took bikes and took the mile-long trail behind the hotel down to Avila promenade, which is also strongly recommended.
My only criticism of the place is its green credentials. I think they should lose the disposable plates, cups and cutlery for breakfast.
I would also strongly recommend eating at the Old Port Inn at the end of the 3rd Pier.
