Avila Village Inn is a lovely hotel tucked away from touristy activity of the beach. Rooms are lovely, we stayed in a second story outdoor hot tub room overlooking the Bob Jones Trail and were very impressed with the spaciousness and decor. Private, CLEAN, hot tub, fireplace, king bed...it was the perfect retreat. Also great exercise facilities at the neighboring health club...very nice! Would be 5 stars but breakfast was weak. Bagels, prepackaged muffins and fruit..not much to write home about. Would have welcomed some protein and oatmeal! Also, would have loved coffee machine in the room with real mugs! All in all a wonderful find. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: #207 - second floor overlooking Bob Jones trail...felt like we were in birds nest!

I am quite surprised that there are negative reviews about this place... I read one review that stated that the place was run down. Far from it! It well kept up and clean. I'm sure that if you look hard enough, you will find something to whine about. So thankful to not be traveling with those people! Okay... So they advertise a "Creekside" room. There is no existent creek. There is a view of the nice trees and hills. Yes, the main road does run about 300 feet away from the property. It's not a deal breaker in my opinion. Fireplace is a nice touch. The hot tub on the balcony is quite nice and relaxing. There is a nice resting area in the lobby with a fireplace. If the fireplace isn't running, ask the person at the front desk to turn it on. Just a nice quiet place. Stay midweek durning the off season and you will get the best rates! My wife and I spent the first part of our honeymoon here and we return 2-3 times a year. It's simple, comfortable and cozy. Cookies at the front desk in the evening are always a nice treat. Continental breakfast is decent. Nothing negative to say about this place except for the occasional snooty people who whine about little things that will likely be found at any hotel. Stay here. You'll be happy! :)

After reading some reviews I was wondering if this was the best place to be spending Valentine's Day. We were pleasantly surprised by this quaint little inn. We were given room 210, a jacuzzi, a fireplace and a view of the creek. Inn is well kept, clean, and friendly. Loved the stay.

Room Tip: Second floor, 210 or 211

I am local to the Central Coast, and my husband and I were looking for a quick and quiet getaway. The Avila Village Inn was perfect! I am very picky about noise and comfort and this hotel far exceeded my expectations. The room was QUIET and wonderful, the bed comfy, and the jacuzzi on deck hot and inviting. We needed a wine bottle opener and asked the front desk to borrow one. The manager handed one over and said we could have it. Great! Thank you AVI for a great evening!

Had a lovely stay at the Avila Village Inn. Bathtubs are enormous and so luxurious. Beds very comfy. Staff incredibly nice. Love the living room feel in the lobby. The nearby deli was delicious. Lovely stay.

We recently stayed at Avila Village Inn for a family reunion of 25 people. It was so cozy, and the rooms and grounds were beautiful. Warm cookies and milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate in the afternoons after spending time at the beach (about 1 mile lovely walk from the Inn, or 2 minute drive) or at the adjoining health club. The breakfast was fine for kids, and the adults often walked over to the attached deli for a cappucino & muffin. The staff were so accommodating and the common areas and other guests were very chilled. A bike path runs right along the Inn as well. The jacuzzi was a welcome sight at the end of surfing, stand up paddling or kayaking nearby. Simply wonderful!

Room Tip: A jacuzzi on the balcony was an added bonus!

We were just at the Avila Village Inn for several nights and we loved it. The Inn is tucked back off the road in Avila and seems very private. The staff was friendly and helpful.

What I loved... the craftsman style of the building and the rooms. The doors are solid wood which makes the room very quiet. Our room was on the second floor with a jacuzzi on our patio which overlooked the creek, trees and Bob Jones Trail. The bathroom was huge, the bed was very comfy and the room was extremely clean.

The lobby is nice and large with a beautiful stone fireplace as the focal point, it was a great place to sit and visit. We were in town with family for a wedding and we would congregate in the lobby to chat and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

The hotel has a limited number of bicycles that you can rent for $7 per hour and you can easily jump on the Bob Jones Trail and pedal yourself to downtown Avila. As a hotel guest you also have access to the health club next door which has a nice workout room, sauna and weight room.

They do serve breakfast in the morning, but it is strictly a continental breakfast, with packaged sweet rolls, bagels or toast, milk and a few choices for cereal. The rooms have mini refrigerator's if you need to store your own items. Coffee and tea is served in the lobby all day as there are no coffee makers in the room. There is the Woodstone Deli within short walking distance of the inn, but check out my review of them separately before you go.

To address the carpet situation that others have talked about. The carpet in our room was perfectly clean, but in the common areas you can tell that the housekeeping staff has spilled bleach or cleaner as there are bleached spots in several places. I do believe it is time for them to put in new carpet in the common areas, but it isn't dirty.

I will definitely stay at the Avila Village Inn the next time we are in town.

Room Tip: If you have someone with mobility issues ask for a room with a walk in shower. The tubs in the bath...
