“Wrigley mansion is a homerun for comfort and class!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

There is no better place to stay at when visiting catalina island. This place is for couples...or really really close friends :) as there are no rooms with two beds.
The prices are steep like the view but you will have a view that NO other tourist will have being that they are located on a private road.
As soon as you get off the catalina express, a staff member is there to welcome you with a sign baring your names. They take you to the inn, check you in and show you around. I was offered champagne while i sat on the patio facing the casino.
This place also gives you your own golf cart for touring the island during your stay :P other tourists have to rent golf carts at a hefty price per hour only.
Anyone get the late night munchies? well they have a pantry with drinks, popcorn and bless their stars ICE CREAM! you can make a sundae at 2am if you want.
Ok for those on a tight budget and a loose schedule...you can book a room last minute if its available and save up to 40% off the rates. The rates are high season and low season. Being that this is California we are talking about, low season weather here is still pleasant. If you can go low season last minute this place is a bargain you cant pass up!

We made reservations for lunch since we had gotten married at the Inn 22 years ago. Eating there brought back such wonderful memories. Our view from the balcony was breath taking. The lunch includes endless mimosas, wine or beer. We enjoyed a few sitting in the sun, overlooking the bay. We had the Mexican speciality for lunch and it was yummy and filling. It was pricey, but worth every penny and we would do it again....let's hope we don't have to wait another 22 years!!

This was by far one of the best experiences we've had and have traveled all over the world. The attention to detail from pick up to departure was first class. The Bethany Glen, champagne, horsdouvre's, lunch ..we loved it all. Thank you Marlene, Michael and all the staff. What a fabulous home!

The only downside to this beautiful hotel is that you are tempted to stay there all day instead of seeing the island! The breakfasts and lunches are wonderful and even the complimentary cocktail hour food dishes are enough to fill you up for dinner! Not to mention the "Butler's Pantry" that each guest has access to which included free beer, wine, sodas, snacks, chips, popcorn, 8 different flavors of ice cream and all the toppings you need for a hot fudge sundae. If that doesn't excite you, than perhaps the golf cart each guest is assigned will perk your ears. We drove all over the island, and it helped us get more out of our time there because we could quickly drive between the beach, day spa, and zip line tours. The staff is amazing and are at your beck and call. We stayed at the Windsor room which I had rest is the best room. Guests who have slept in this room include Presidents Calvin Coolige and Warren Harding, and the Prince of Wales. This room has an elevated queen size bed (to better take in the ocean views), a fireplace and a full bath. The Windsor room has the best view in the house. The wrap around views include Avalon Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and the Mainland. The money you save on food and rental costs of the golf cart more than makes up for the heft price of the rooms. If you go to Catalina, this is the only place to stay.

Room Tip: Make sure and get the Windsor room. It is the best room by far!

My husband and I came here while I was 7 months pregnant, and the staff treated us like we were the President and 1st lady! We had access to unlimited Ice Cream Floats, the breakfast and lunch were divine, and piano was a dream to play. Our personal golf cart got us wherever we wanted to go in Avalon! We can't wait to go back, and bring our parents along with us!

The Inn on Mt. Ada offers an escape into a bygone day of luxury a la the Wrigley family, with all of the modern day conveniences and gracious service coupled with a seaside village like Avalon, Santa Catalina, California. It's as if you've been invited to spend the weekend with the Wrigley's in their mansion and they were called away at the last moment leaving you to enjoy their home. The rooms are luxuriously decorated with the best amenities. The main floor consisting of living room, dining room, den, kitchen, terrace, sun porch, and outside grounds are yours to enjoy as if you were the master of the mansion. Do you want some wine? or ice cream? or snacks, cookies, or popcorn? Just go into the butler's pantry any time of the day or night and help yourself! A stay at the Inn also includes a gourmet breakfast, fantastic lunch, wine and appetizers at 6 p.m. daily, and your own private golf cart to use anytime at your pleasure to enjoy the sights of Avalon.

A stay at the Inn on Mt. Ada is a luxurious treat and an escape into a world of gracious, luxurious living where the staff's number one goal is to please the guest. I can't wait to return!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are fantastic!

Hubby and I splurged on a weekend at the Inn during a trip to the island this fall to run in an annual race held in Catalina. We'd eyed the Inn, set majestically at the top of a hill, during one our previous visits to the island and dreamed of staying there. The visit surpassed our wildest expectations and has spoiled us for life - there will be no way we can come to Catalina in the future without returning to the Inn on Mt. Ada!
The service is exceptional - you're met at the ferry by the host and taken up to the Inn where you're given a tour of the facilities. Our room (#3, the Windsor Room) has an incredible corner view and the most cozy fireplace. The bathroom was adorably vintage in its fixtures.
The staff are attentive, very accessible, and will arrange anything that you might need - dinner reservations, tours, etc.
The amenities are simply over the top and set the Inn apart from any other B&B experience. Each evening, there are appetizers and wine in the bar, and your room rate also includes breakfast and lunch in the Inn's gorgeous dining room overlooking the quaint Avalon harbor below. If the weather is nice, you're invited to dine outside on the patio. There is a butler's pantry stocked with drinks, snacks and even ice cream sundae ingredients - available 24 hours a day. Carmen and her staff in the kitchen are delightful and serve delicious traditional meals at breakfast and lunch with a Mexican special each day - the Barbacoa was incredible! Your stay also includes the unlimited use of a golf cart for travel around Avalon. If you don't feel like carting yourself, the staff will arrange for taxi service.
Staying here made me feel just a bit guilty as I felt that I'd rather lounge around at the Inn, all cozy and relaxed, than do much exploring of Avalon. (Although, if that's the Inn's only short-coming, I guess there really isn't much to complain about, is there?)
We are already looking forward to a return visit next year when we're back for our race! Thank you staff at the Inn at Mt. Ada!

Room Tip: The Windsor Room has an incredible corner view!
