The Manager Roger was very helpful and considerate. The Hotel was peacful and off the beaten path...Which was perfect for our anniversary. Although our stay was brief it was very comfortable and nice. We would highly suggest this place and of coure "The Loft 'to any couple with the intent on a private eclectic stay

Roger was the best , friendly and helpful , even mailed me my electronic charger , after my bad in leaving it on the counter ! All in All,,, A Wonderful stay....It will be longer next time : :e)

I had a wonderful time with my girlfriend at the Seacrest Inn. The hotel is centrally located near the beach, restaurants & shops, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The hotel manager Roger did a good job of creating a hospitable place to stay on Catalina Island. Can't wait to come back!

Hi, before I forget take luggage that has wheels, as the ferry terminal is not that far from the town.
Seacreast if very close to the Town. Great views from the rookk patio. The rooms are nice if not a little small, there was a little issue with the hot water, as it was just me not a huge problem, BUT.

The manager, Roger, was very friendly, helpful, informative, and professional. The cleaning woman, Maria, although limited in her English, was very helpful and cheerful.

We stayed in the Captains Room (Rm. 8), which was a decent size, but not awe inspiring. A better job cleaning the bathroom facilities and stocking the room with a fresh new set of towels and a new roll of TP prior to our arrival would have been nice.

The queen size bed was nice, the mattress firm and springy feeling, the bedding okay.

No place to sit in the room except on the bed or tub which is annoying. The TV was small and old.

Regarding safety, this is no place for the handicap or physically impaired for the hallways are narrow, staircase and handrails not to code, and a death trap in the event of a fire (no dull exits or sprinkler system). I didn't notice the placement of any fire/smoke detectors, but perhaps they are there and I didn't notice.

The place is not a true B&B for there is no formal dining area, nor on site chef, but instead this is a slightly more upgraded, historic home turned motel with a sub adequate continental breakfast serving. The coffee was good though.

All in all, because of the staff, the place was tolerable for a one night stay but I am afraid they'd have to kick it up a notch to gain my return business.

I give it a 2 1/2 to 3 stars.

Our stay in May 2012 on Catalina Island was to celebrate or 30th wedding anniversary. We arrived at the Catalina Island Seacrest Inn began with mixed expectations for we had read a critique about the Inn after we made the reservations.

We arrived to soon before check out time so our room was not ready, however Roger kept our luggage at hand so we could enjoy Avalon with lugging it around. The room was on the ground level and was the size as would be expected in a Victorian styled inn.

We ate all of our meals out except one which we had barbequed on the top deck of the inn. The view was great and the atmosphere matched. The town of Avalon, albeit a tourist town, lent itself to a small town atmosphere. We could see how the people who live there were quite secure in themselves. We will return again knowing we will be welcomed back and shall be treated like old friends.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a short getaway to Catalina Island. We booked two nights at the Seacrest Inn. The location was great, one block from the beach. The inn is an older building, but the rooms have been nicely refurbished with large jacuzzi tubs. We stayed in "Sea Shell." The only drawback to this particular room was the lack of a view. Otherwise it was comfortable.

The inn caretaker Roger was a good host. We appreciated his restaurant recommendations (check out the Lobster Trap and Avalon Grille around the corner) and enjoyed listening to his band play at an open air bar near the Casino. He was always just a phone call away when we needed him. He even quickly returned an item that we forgot at the inn to our home in Colorado. My wife and I also enjoyed breakfasts and sunsets on the rooftop patio with a panoramic view of Avalon Bay.

Overall the Seacrest Inn is affordable, friendly lodging for a romantic escape to Catalina Island.

Dingy, old, and smelly. The only good thing was the caretaker Roger, he was nice but gone allot. Ran out of toilet paper the first day had to buy our own. Small windows and if you open them the room fills with exhaust from the constant golf cart traffic. Terrible booking contract. I believe there are allot of fake good reviews here about this place. You could spend a little more and stay in a much better room. We did, didn't want our Catalina experience to end on such sour note. Stay away from this dive!
