We had a wonderful 25th anniversary trip to Catalina and Snug Harbor Inn was our home in the heart of town. This is a great place to stay and I highly recommend the front row rooms if you like to people watch and don't mind a little night time noise. The Inn provides ear plugs and sleeping masks, both of which will help as the night time noise can be bothersome and the sunrise lights up the room very early. None of this bothered us and we absolutely loved our room (Santa Catalina). The morning breakfast is good, and the local restaurants were great. Highly recommend the Avalon Grille, Steve's Steakhouse, and Ristorante Villa Portofino. All three had excellent food and excellent service. Descanso Beach Club was kinda pricey, but we had a great day lounging and recovering from our hiking adventure. Lots of fun hikes, we chose one of the hardest. We caught a shuttle ride up to the airport early and hiked the Trans Catalina Trail back to town, nearly 13 miles. Saw lots of wildlife (buffalo, deer, fox, etc), but it is a long hike. Fun, but long. Recommend the shorter hikes around town. Great trip, we will be back!
