“Enjoyable bargain for early birds”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

I went to Catalina on an early ferry Saturday morning. While walking around town, I discovered that they have an August special for any glass bottom boat tour before 11am. For a mere 5 dollars, I and three others took the 9:15 am boat tour from the pier. It lasted about 45 minutes and was a great experience on a beautiful summer morning, especially getting to feed the fish the two times in the little cove. We were not charged anything for the fish food and the fish are so trained to get food from the boat that many congregate around the feeding area. Because there were so few of us the kids AND adults all got to feed the fish. It was like having a private tour of a little piece of Catalina heaven.

“Glass bottom boat”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

This was your average glass bottom boat tour. One nice thing though is that they had areas that the kids could drop food down and attract the fish. That excited all the little kids. Understand though that the whole bottom of the boat is not glass, just large window sections. It was very clean and fish food cost $5 for 2 small bags. That was plenty for the trip though.

“Ok, since there was a sale!”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

Boat was nice, calm ride out to lover's cove. Tour guide was great, he grew up on Catalina Island. Once we got to the cove and over a bed of kelp we saw a lot of bass bunched together and a few of the orange fish. When the guide threw some food out, a bird swam under the boat.....and that was it. Its nice to see the fish all bunched together at first and then when you get over that initial scene, that's it, nothing more.....back to the dock with the tour guide pointing out certain areas in Avalon and some history. This was a good trip for the cost we paid, $46 for a family of four.

“Was OK tour”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

Was an alright tour - didn't see that many varieties of fish only a couple different kinds. They charge you for fish food to feed the fish ($5 for two tubes) - to me they should be feeding the fish for you to attract them and include that in the tour price. We were at the back of the boat and his speaker system was very hard to understand him on.

“GREAT!”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

We had a Groupon discount for the Glass Bottom Tour. We enjoyed the informative tour about the local fish and their habitat. The gentleman giving the tour was just wonderful!! Overall a GREAT experience! There were only 4 other people on the tour with us.
