I chose it, frankly, everything else was booked and very expensive. But it worked out perfectly. It is an old house which has been a small inn for many years. Rooms are small, good light, fans, good shower, comfortable bed, good free wifi. There is a full breakfast at 9 and happy hour in the afternoon. Everyone is friendly and personable.

The Old Turner Inn is centrally located, easy walking distance all around Avalon. The breakfasts are wonderful, and provide great fuel for your activities on the island.
We stayed in the King Suite which has an air-conditioned enclosed porch adjacent to the nicely appointed room. On fine days you can open the windows and enjoy the sea breezes, and the room has a fireplace to warm your cool-weather excursions. An evening cordial is available for a nightcap.
Be sure to take advantage of the wine and cheese happy hour at 5:30. The Old Turner Inn often has helpful owners, staff and guests who can make your dining and entertainment choices easier. Definitely would stay here again!

Christa was the innkeeper when we arrived in catalina. She was a the epitome of a gracious hostess. Even before arriving she gave us useful info on the area and on travel discounts. We arrived before check in but she welcomed us early and we were able to leave off our luggage to begin our vacation. Her breakfasts were wonderful and home cooked. After check out she again made life easy for us by allowing us to read in her living room until our boat arrived
Cudos for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely be returning. Patricia

My wife and I, along with another couple, stayed at the Old Turner Inn last Wed and Thursday. We all agreed that it was a great place. The rooms were clean and the beds were 1st rate. Breakfast was good and the evening wine & appetizers allowed us to relax and meet the other guests. The location was an easy walk to the main section of town. Both Kathleen and Chris were friendly and very knowledgeable about the excursions and restaurants. We definitely plan to stay here when we return to Catalina.

My husband and I spent our anniversary at the Old Turner Inn. We enjoyed it so much we will stay again. It was our first trip to Catalina.
We stayed in the smallest of their rooms, the wicker room. It was not too small. It was just right. The bed was comfortable, good closet space, television with DVD player with a movie selection, and a full bath. The room was very quiet at night.

Our hosts were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to enjoy on the island.

Breakfast was good and tasty, but not fancy. (Which we prefer) Check out was 11am, but our flight off the island was not until 6pm and our hosts were very accommodating allowing us to leave our luggage until it was time for us to go.

The Inn is in an excellent location to walking everywhere. Which we did.

I'm giving the rating an excellent because The Old Turner Inn was quaint and authentic. We've stayed at more sophisticated B&Bs, but we really enjoyed feeling like we were home away from home in the Inn.

Room Tip: We chose the wicker room because it was the only one available. That turned out to be a good thing b...

I volunteer for the Catalina Island Conservancy and we had are annual Conservancy Volunteer Appreciation Dinner last night (06/13/2014) and I stayed overnight on the Island at the Old Turner Inn for my second time. The Inn Keeper could not have been any nicer, I rate her as a A++ The Breakfast Quiche that she cooked this morning would rival any world class Bed and Breakfasts from around the world. This is a top notch Inn that I would recommend to all of my family and frends.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Queens Room.

We spent two nights at The Old Turner Inn and enjoyed everything about it. The room as clean, the bed was comfortable and the location was less than two blocks from the beach and pier which works out perfectly as it is nice and quite at night. Kathleen and Christa were very friendly and cooked the most delightful breakfasts! The sitting area downstairs had several historical books about Catalina Island. Upstairs you have a great selection of videos to select from if you feel like kicking back for a while. A really nice touch is the original artwork in each room and the downstairs areas which were done by visiting artists. All in all a really nice mini-vacation and we would recommend TOT Inn to our friends and family.
