We usually stop here on our way home from the Bay Area. We love the tall pies and sometimes stop just for that. This time we ate at the burger restaurant and were not disappointed. We had great burgers. However he fries were just so so. Also the place was jammed as it was a Sunday and it always makes me feel a little claustrophobic since the aisles are so small.

Ikeda's makes fruit pies daily. They have a wonderful flaky crust and plenty of fruit filling. We always stop and take one home or take one down to our hosts when heading West. Farmer's market type food selections with interesting sauces and condiments. But pies (and a bathroom stop) are the draw.

great stop on the way to tahoe.. but i bet you already knew that because this place is ALWAYS crowded. Great salsas and fruit, gourmet groceries as well. Their tamales are the best!

When you first see the place from the street, it looks like an large fruit and vegetable stand -- which is true for part of the structure. The fruit and vegetable selections are fresh and neatly displayed in the "store" part of Ikeda's. While getting healthy fruits and vegetables, check out the home made pies. They are incredible. The surprise comes when you go from the store to the small diner that is attached. The generously proportioned burgers and fries are outstanding. The onion rings are gourmet quality. And, oh by the way, have a piece of home made pie to top off your meal.

They have decent burgers as well but the restaurant is not their primary business. One of the best places to get fruits & nuts when in season for this area.
