Description: Brian & Lisa Ford opened Auburn Alehouse Brewery & Restaurant in 2007 in the iconic Shanghai Restaurant, embracing the building's character and colorful history in the heart of Historic Auburn. While enjoying their full bistro menu, patrons can often see Brian & his brewers making world-class beer in small batches, using only the finest malted barley and American-grown hops. With a collection of prestigious awards hanging on the wall it's easy to see why the SacBee recently said Auburn Alehouse is one of the region's premier craft breweries. Favorites include the Gold Digger IPA (CA State Fair Gold Medal Winner), Gold Country Pilsner (GABF Gold Medal Winner), Hop Donkey (GABF Silver Medal Winner) and PU240 IPA! Lunch and Dinner are served every day, while our Brunch menu is served on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-noon. Don't forget we have a dog friendly patio!

Finding this place by gps is a little hectic, parking sucks, but the atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and good, the food is average, and the beer is wonderful, we went on a Saturday night, it was very busy, and very loud. It is a unique bar/restaurant, in a wonderful little town.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this brewery in this teeny, but quaint section of Auburn. The menu had so many options, almost too many. There were four of us in our party and we all ordered different food items and drinks. We were all completely satisfied with our selections (and the service) (and the setting) and we plan to return.

I love Auburn, lots of good spots - I hope folks will visit all, be it Bootleggers, Dingus McGees, Club Car, The Monkey Cat, Tres Pazzi +++ But if you are only going to be in town for 1 meal, make it the Ale House - They have a fun menu and Great Beer - the location is great, if the weather is nice the back patio is great - I love looking at all the brew equipment - the staff is wonderful, they know the place well and will answer any question - if they do not know they will get someone who will (I am constantly learning the details of brewing and great beer) - of course you do not need to eat there - belly up to the bar and enjoy one of their great brews - do know Wednesdays at 5 they always introduce a new "Cask" Beer - these often do not last past the night - Thursdays during the summer there is live music, Tuesdays are Taco night - I am sure not every item will resonate with everyone - but I guarantee there is something to be found for all tastes and disciplines - I love the Jambalaya - the Ahi Nachos and the Crab Cakes - those are my top 3 - When you go tell them Smilin' Scott sent you - (then duck...)

We are visiting the Auburn area and the Auburn Ale House was recommended to us by some locals. It was a thursday evening, 7 pm and the four of us had no wait. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with menu choices. Sandwiches and Burgers were good with a generous helping of delicious fries. We had to try the fried pickle chips...if you like dill pickles you will enjoy these with dip! In nice weather you can sit out on the back patio with a musician. It is located in Historic Old Auburn among art galleries and gift shops. There are lots of places to choose from in the area to eat and I am glad we chose this one.

Spent an enjoyable afternoon on the patio for lunch with friends. Excellent service and food. Lots of choices and be sure to try the cheese loaf bread. It was absolutely yummy, IMO. Pleasant, casual atmosphere in "Old Town" Auburn with lots of cute shops. Will definitely go back and I do not live in Auburn, have just always enjoyed the area.
