My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary in the Immigrant Room. Very different with a claw foot tub on a second level in the room. The mansion was very charming, has a tea room downstairs. It really reminded me of the old gold rush era that surrounds it in historic Auburn. Breakfast was fantastic, it is served next door at the Power Club. Everything is baked from scratch. As a 25 year pastry chef I must say their food is wonderful. No need to look further for food when staying at the mansion. We had dinner at the Power Club, too. Great food, good prices. Unique menu. Very delicious and huge servings. Alfred was great and very helpful throughout our stay. Definitely a place to stay when in Auburn.

Alfred and his team were just beyond excellent. I am so grateful I was referred to him when planning the 10 year reunion for Placer High School class of 2002. We had over 130 people attend. The event was just perfect and the venue is ideal for any kind of party--not just weddings. Alfred was so accommodating for our party and made the day as simple as it could be for us. Very very reasonably price--I was able to keep the price low for the attendees and the event turned into a fantastic party! Couldnt of asked for it to be better! Thanks Alfred!

One week ago my husband and I spent one night at the "Mansion". We were immediately impressed by the welcoming and hospitality shown by the owner, Alfred Lee. He was extremely accommodating towards us. The room was spacious, charming and comfortable The location was perfect as we were able to stroll downtown and take in all the shops and have dinner at one of the local restaurants...So nice not to have to get in the car to find somewhere to go, it was right out the door. The next morning we were treated to an "amazing" breakfast prepared by Alfred, and was charmed by his personality. We will be back!!

My family selected the Power’s Mansion for a family reunion because of its proximity to Sacramento, the number of rooms in the mansion and the option that we had to rent the entire place for a weekend. Being close to Sacramento was important because the Great Grandparents live there and they don’t travel very well. The number of rooms was important because our family has a lot of adults that need individual rooms. As it worked out we occupied 15 of the 16 total rooms. Having the whole facility to ourselves was great because we had plenty of space and opportunity to visit, get caught up, and meet new members of the family (Molly is only 6 moths old). The Power’s Mansion was perfect for us. Alfred and his family were gracious, generous and extremely accommodating. Even though the Afternoon Tea Chefs use the kitchen, we had full access to it. The afternoon tea was not an inconvenience to us at all and some of us actually enjoyed it. It was very reasonably priced and incredibly good! Because the Power’s Mansion is set up for large wedding parties the lay out is not what one would consider typical for B&Bs. Breakfast across the parking lot in the tavern was less intimate, but it once again, it was perfect for our large group. We had the whole place to ourselves. We did not fill up the whole space but it was easy to visit and move around without disturbing any other customers. Lastly, I have to give Alfred additional props for letting us use the wedding reception hall for our reunion dinner. This was not expected nor was his voluntary performance as DJ for the party. Alfred and his family went out of their way to make our weekend special and memorable. We had a great time from the minute we arrived with the smell of scones in the oven to our last night when Alfred shut down the mansion’s exterior lights so that we could star gaze in the back yard.

Comfortable, clean, quiet, beautiful, historic, well located to other attractions, owner was very helpful and accommodating. Oh, did I mention the breakfasts? The most incredible B & B breakfast you will ever have!! Would recommend this to friends and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Go for room # 3 if you have a choice. We were able to check out most of the rooms and like this one...
