We have spent alot of time at this park over the last 25 years. We live on the coast so this is the perfect warm weather spot for us. Nice park with lots of trees and a lake. Perfect for bbq. Has volleyball nets and horseshoe pits, they even rent paddle boats in summer. The zoo is small but nice. Perfect for smaller children, although we still enjoy it too

This is a hidden gem of a small Zoo in Atascadero (15 minutes north or San Luis Obispo and 10 minutes south of Paso Robles) that has some of the most unique animals that you would not find at a large zoo. Great gift shop with reasonable prices. A must see when you are in the area.

We visited the Charles Paddock Zoo with my 3-year old grandson last month. Go early when it opens at 10am and watch the animals being fed! The red panda had 4-month old twins but we only saw mama. The meerkats were so entertaining. For a small zoo, it was fun.

Vey nice time at the little zoo. Some interesting species but a little depressing seeing them in small environments.
