The staff was excellent - comfortable tasting room - beautiful views of the surrounding farm and the wines are some of the best in the region.

The staff is always friendly. The location is breathtaking any time of year. The frequent events that include local appetizers in the patio are a treat.

Talley Chardonnay is poured in some of New York's finer restaurants. The late Don Talley left his new tasting room (just beyond the old) in the hands of his family. Like most wineries today, they charge for tasting, but deduct the cost when wine is purchased. Located at the south end of Edna Valley off Lopez Canyon Lake Road. Beautiful setting looking out on Talley vines and Talley Farms vegetables. This winery is an Arroyo Grande locals and far-flung visitors' favorite.

I am not usually one that goes for a Chardonnay...I am more of a big, bold, Cabernet, Syrah, or Petite Syrah fan myself...but Talley has some wonderful Chards! The drive from the 101 takes you through the small quaint Old Town Arroyo Grande. Stop in at Alhpy's Broiler for a great burger on your way to or from Talley's! Once you pass the town, you are on a two lane country road through some beautiful country with rolling hills and farms for about 4 miles. In the spring time, the hills are a beautiful shade of green...unfortunately, the green soon fades to amber as the heat dries everything incredibly quick. The tasting room at Talley is expansive and the grounds are beautiful. You can enjoy a bottle of wine with a picnic on the grass if you prefer. Will definitely be going back on my next visit to the central coast!
