I live down the street from this place and have given them way too many opportunities to be great. The setup of the restaurant is too confusing for people walking in. I have waited for 15 min for a table with plenty of open tables and watched people walk in and seat themselves when there is no one to man the front. On another occasion after being seated we waited with a bottle of wine at our table for 15 min and nobody acknowledged we were there, a manager walking up to the table next to us who just walked in and sat down asking them their drink order. We walked out, never to go back. I don't know the owners or managers personally but it is apparent every time I was in that they treat their regulars different. The food was never fantastic for the price either.

The Rooster Creek Tavern is located on the main street of the small town of Arroyo Grande, CA, and is, in my estimation, the best place to eat in a town with several choices. There is indoor and outdoor dining. The interior has televisions mounted in strategic places around the main room giving the restaurant a pleasant, up-tempo, sport-bar feel to it.

The menu is varied and everything we've had on two visits to the Rooster Creek has been delicious. They offer small, one-person pizzas that are really good as well as some Mexican dishes. Meats and fish options abound. The service is always good; the staff is friendly and helpful. The food arrives in a timely manner. The Rooster Creek also has an extensive wine list, as befits an eatery in the middle of one of California's finest wine regions.

This is a wonderful little restaurant. The menu is creative but there are enough choices for everyone to be satisfied. They have a wood oven for baked items and pizza. Wings are big and meaty. Try the Saigon Sizzle sauce for something different. Full bar with local beers. Several TVs to watch games. Nice outdoor patio for al fresco dining. Overall a nice place for locals and tourist.

This is a beautiful, new full-service restaurant and bar located in the quaint village of Arroyo Grande. They have an extensive menu encompassing everything from creative appetizers, to crisp salads, to monster sandwiches, to full dinner entres...oh, and then there's the pizzas! Great, hand-tossed crust cooked in a wood fired oven with very original toppings (or you can create your own)...I recommend the "Eagle," a true meat lovers delight! Rooster Creek's chili is to die for as well! There's a full bar with different sports playing on several flat screen HD tv's, and an excellent wine list featuring local vintages and one of the nicest outdoor patios anywhere in San Luis Obispo County...they even have heaters to keep you warm on chilly coastal evenings. The Happy Hour, Monday-Friday from 4-6 PM is a great bargain. We have always had exceelnt, professional, well-informed and friendly service. If you sit on the patio you may be treated to the show put on by several roosters and hens who reside in and around the parking lot and adjacent creek area (hence the name?)...they are a riot.

They were open past 9pm and our options were limited. Title says it all... better than typical bar food.
