Owner description: A picturesque camping, hiking and outdoor recreation area.

Lake was green - no swimming was advised. Tons of yellow jackets and flies. no grass - everything was brown and dried up - just dirt. To many hills to ride bikes. Toilets and showers were gross. Plus side, was cheap and saw lots of deer, turkey's, woodpecker's and blue jay's. Our spot was roomy - some are small. I did like that you could drive into town (not to far) and do other things. I won't go back, I prefer the beach.

The Marina jipped us out of $209 for a propeller they say we ruined. With a lifetime of boating experience I know we didn't do the damage they claim we did. It seemed like a typical bait & switch rip of scheme for out of towners. Do not trust the Marina.

I think Lopez Lake is the best place to take your family. Wide open spaces, Waterslides, swim areas and the awsome marina store with snack bar, pool tables and super friendly service. I had a few beers there while the kids played video games and pool, now that is relaxing.

We went to Lake Lopez for 4th of July and stayed for 2 nights. We took the dog since our dog gets nervous with fireworks. Our dog loved it!! He was calm and relaxed as we were. It was so relaxing and peaceful. We couldn't complain about anything. It was very quiet and nice. We loved it because it is pet friendly and the staff is real nice. The rangers make frequent rounds on the trash and they maintain the premises very clean.
