The staff was pleasant and helpful. The lobby, room, pool area and breakfast room were clean. The carpet in the first floor had a few spots that looked as if it was coming up. It is cosmetic fix.
The room was nice. The mattress was too soft for me. The pillows could have used a little more fluff. The halls were quiet.
The room had a safe, microwave and refrigerator. The microwave was strong enough to heat up leftovers. The fridge kept everything cold. There was a nice counter in the room for the microwave. It gave us some counter space for our extra food.
Our son has milk allergies so I went to the local store Ray's for almond milk. It was $4 for a 1/2 gallon of almond milk. That was highway robbery. I went down to Eureka for groceries. Pick up your extras in Eureka before you get to Arcata.
The pool area was clean. The amount of people there varied. At some point there were lots kids and lots of cannonballs. There was enough room to get away from the splash.
The breakfast room was fine early. Otherwise it was packed and busy. We took our food to the room where it was quiet. The breakfast was typical continental. They do have boiled eggs but they are cold. There is a small kitchenette next to the breakfast room. I went in there and heated my egg or I heated the eggs in the room.
When we checked out is was early. They let us have coffee from the breakfast room.
We had a pleasant stay and intend on staying there again.
