“A pet friendly gem”

I can't say enough about this hotel, I wish they were all like this. My dog was welcomed with free treats at check-in. The room was very large, the bed was comfortable, and the towels were big and fluffy. The lobby is nicely decorated and the staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast was average but nicely presented. We would be happy to return here any time.

Got a good deal for a single queen room on a Saturday night. Very smooth check-in with accommodating staff. We requested a rollaway about 10pm when we realized our little one was too squirmy to share our bed, and one was brought up within minutes. Although the hotel was full (Avenue of the Giants Marathon), it was surprisingly quiet. Good night's sleep in a comfy, if a little small, bed. (Queen size hotel beds are not the same size as commercial queen size beds, I don't get it.) I think this might be a pet-friendly hotel. Saw a few dogs on leash on parking lot and was relieved that I didn't hear barking during the night.

This looked like a well maintained but older hotel from the outside, and maybe that is just what made the inside so wonderful. The room was very large with a very comfortable king size bed, sink separate from the toilet and bath, two suitcase stands, refrigerator, microwave, etc. We look for pet-friendly hotels, and there was not a hint of pet odor when we walked into our room. I liked the fact that they are trying to be eco-friendly by giving several levels of cleaning or no cleaning options for more than one night stays. The complementary breakfast was more than I expected, with waffles, fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins, cereals, and more. This was a great place to stay with our little chihuahua. Not a big deal for us, but the wi-fi did not want to connect during the day. . .very slow.

This was perfect for a night with three generations and two cars. It was clean, comfortable and had a pool for the little ones to burn some energy. It is close to the Redwoods and some lovely beaches. Breakfast area is smaller than most but there were some "TV" tables to extend the space. We would stay there again. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This was my second stay at the BW Arcata. With a daughter at HSU, I suspect that I will have many stays here. It is reasonably priced, clean and comfortable, and dog friendly. I don't always bring the "fourth child" with me but it is nice to have the option. It is a considerable value as compared to the Hampton Inn across the street which is almost twice the price with no discernible difference in room or breakfast quality.
