“Nice Walk, not too Difficult”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

This "park" could be a challenge for elderly, arthritics, people with small children in tow. But it is scenic, with not too many Old Growth Redwoods, but many 2nd growth trees. There are several paths and you can make it as short or as long as you like. I actually like to walk around the redwood park that is part of nearby Eureka's Sequoia Park/Zoo better. about 20 minutes away going further south down Hwy 101. You may have to seek directions once you are in town.

“A Treasure for All”
Reviewed March 29, 2012

If you like to hike, bike or ride horseback, the Arcata Community Forens is not to be missed. Miles and miles of trails snake their way through beautiful second growth redwood groves and a few really big trees. There is a good variety of trails to choose from depending on how long and how steep you want your trip to be. There is something timeless about redwoods and this is a great chance to experience them without driving out of town.

This is a beautiful park, too bad it can be overrun by the "entitled transient" youngsters that tend to take over the place

“take a hike”

Its a bit magical having a forest so close to the beach and so close to the rat race; if you can call Arcata the rat race. I love that I can go clean my head and get away from it all!

The most amazing city park ever. This is just so beautiful, I can't really describe it. Great, easy walking trails, so many beautiful trees...some sculptured trees. Check it out!
