“You can't get this anywhere else”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

You want something authentic? Here you go! Great place, always crowded (both back-to-back locations), and always a predominantly Chinese crowd which says something. Try the Shanghai style rice cakes -- they're nothing at all like the Quaker snack cakes, more like a dense "rice polenta" sliced and wok-fried with onions and sauce and pork or chicken or whatever.

“Dumplings to die for”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Din Tai Fung in Arcadia has the BEST juicy pork dumplings ever! Delicate skins, tender pork, delicious soup. You eat them with a spoon so you don't lose the broth. If you don't want pork, they have shrimp dumplings and vegetable dumplings. Pair the dumplings with a seafood appetizer and a plate of Shanghai rice cake, and you'll be sated.

“food is very good and service is second to none”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

This restaurant is famous for its dumpling which there is a showcase upfront of the place showing you how they are being made. My wife loves the fried porkchop noodle soup. The porkchop is so tender and tasty. If you plan on visit this restaurant on the weekend you should be their early before 11 AM if not you better be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes. We like all the dishes but naturally we like some more than the others. I like fried noodle, fried rice, chicken dumpling and red bean dumpling. If you have a chance observe how they clean their table. It was prefessional done with thorough cleaning in mind. They even clean the table with alcohol solution. The service is excellent. If you have to wait for table use the time to study and menu and fill out the order sheet ahead of time.

“good but very limited menu”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

good, not great, dumplings but only noodles and dumplings. If you want any other dishes...seafood, veg, etc to go with the starchy main dish...you are out of luck.

Noodle dough is freshly made in front where you can see it. Part of the novelty. For me the dough is a bit sticky and soft, and it goes through everything. Fillings are a bit sparse.
Best feature is the freshness of the dough and generally light hand in saucing.
