We looked for a hotel for a week-long stay. We wanted to avoid the congestion in downtown Los Angeles and/or the daily parking fees in many other hotels. The Embassy Suites in Arcadia (in the Pasadena vicinity) met the our needs and then some. The hotel is conveniently located off "the" 210 freeway near the Santa Anita Race Track, and the Los Angeles County Botanical Gardens. Close by is the charm of Pasadena (Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena Museum of California Art, the Pasadena Playhouse and lots more)

The suites are comfortable, spacious, clean, and well-maintained. A microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker are available. The surprise was that each morning, a full breakfast was available (made to order eggs, pancakes, hot dishes, cold selections, fresh fruit, hot/cold cereal, beverages) and each evening a reception offering a range of snacks and of alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages. There was always iced water (infused with citrus or cucumber) available in the foyer.

The location is close to the Westfield Shopping Mall (AMC movie theater and high end retailers plus a great food choices) convenient Park & Ride to the Hollywood Bowl, and minutes from the Huntington Library and Gardens. Take a bit longer to reach Malibu (the Getty Villa) or the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Petersen Automotive Museum directly across the street. Be sure to head downtown for a visit to The Broad Museum!

You might guess that we are culture vultures, but this location offered us quiet nights to rest up from the busy days! A must return for us!

Room tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators - quiet in "bedroom" but the "living room " might disturb light sleepers.

Staff were great, which needs to be said first...
Unfortunately the room we had (402) was next to the road so it was noisy, others said the opposite side was quieter.
The interior doors were shabby and the "kitchen" area just plain knackered. Veneer cracking and taps and sink stained.
The whole room and bathroom needs bottoming out and deep cleaning. A quick turnaround clean won't cut it. Someone may have vacuumed the middle of the floor before we arrived but the edges were dusty and nothing appeared to be cleaned whilst we were there.
Fortunately the bedding was clean and we only slept there.
On the plus side, breakfast is really good and the staff are helpful.
There's a pool but it's indoor and there's nowhere outside that you can relax.
It is well situated for the Metro though and the parking is free... Oh and they don't charge a resort fee...

Stayed at many, many Embassy Suites over the years. This one has some wear on it. Convenient location for sure for business travelers but hesitant to say it would be great for a family vacation. Great people working here though. Walk to Matt Denny's bar and restaurant for a pleasant cocktail and dinner.

Room tip: Ask for back of hotel for quiet.
