The rooms in the Embassy Suites were pretty comparable to any mid-level hotel chain in a major city. There was some "wear and tear", but the place was acceptable, nonetheless.

But of all the mid-level hotel chains I had stayed at, this was probably the best complimentary breakfast I ever had. With a "cooked to order" vegetarian omelet, sausage, and hot cakes, paired with some orange juice and a morning newspaper, I could have married the hotel! Other than tipping a few dollars to the staff, the breakfast was completely free. Normally, if we go out for that type of meal, it is easily 40-50 bucks. Well worth the price to stay at Embassy Suites.

Old & needs updating is not the only downside, but deferred maintenance...The cleanliness factor also lacked.
We stayed in room 502, and the sink was damaged about the size of a softball.
The bathrooms are small.
The sofa bed was mushy & not comfortable, there weren't any additional bedding, like another comforter or pillows.

The heating & cooling is totally budget, not having individual thermostats in the room. The hotel controls whether they allow you to use a/c or heat depending on the weather. Strange.

The indoor pool & jacuzzi were nice, but the location is odd..right next to housekeeping carts & the housekeeping laundry area. Even though housekeeping was so close they still failed to keep the towels in the pool stocked.

Yeah, the evening reception with pretzels & free alcohol is ok, and the cooked breakfast filled our bellies, but overall mediocre quality and we would have opted for a nicer room.

We will not stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

Stayed here 3 nights while attending a high school reunion. This is a great place for a reasonable price. Stayed with a friend also attending the reunion, and the 2 room suite was perfect. The fold out sofa was very comfortable, and we loved the fact that there was an extra sink and mirror in the bedroom. The 2 hour cocktail hour was a great hit with all my fellow classmates who were also staying there. The made to order, chef cooked, free breakfast was very good and the dining area is pleasant. the hotel is appealing in its decor and amenities, and staff was good as well. It is located steps from several good restaurants, and a minute from the freeway offramp. The side of the hotel I was on had a lovely view of the San Gabriel Mountains. There is also a restaurant in the hotel that I did not try. A good choice and value for the price.

This was our second stay here and it is a great hotel. Comfortable beds and large rooms away from lobby noise. Could use a little updating but well worth the price including hot breakfast and evening cocktails. Free wifi a bonus too. Would recommend to all.

This Embassy Suites property is well situated, and the breakfast and nightly reception perks are as good as they are at any Embassy Suites property. However, we were surprised to find a $10/night increase in the room rate when we switched from a smoking room (not what we originally reserved) to a non-smoking room. The young woman at the front desk didn't seem interested in discussing the logic or the fairness of the increased price, which put us off since we didn't want a smoking room in the first place, endured it for several nights, and then had to pay a higher price for the room we originally reserved. Overall, the experience was just okay, but I'm not sure we will stay there again the next time we're on business in Arcadia.

As mentioned in other reviews, this is the newest property. My room was clean.

Odd thing was the heating and cooling...seems that being an old building, The system is either on heat or cool. There is the in between season that has neither. I was cold in the room and mentioned it to the front desk, They had a space heater brought up to the room...Much more comfortable.

The breakfast was good, cooked to order. I had an omelet each morning.

The location is good, There are a lot of good restaurants within a couple of blocks.

Room Tip: Ask for a space heater if cold.

Stayed here over a weekend....

The good:
- Good breakfast - granted, probably Embassy's biggest selling point.
- Arcadia has a lot of good Chinese restaurants!

The bad:
- Outdated, in many ways:
(a) Wireless connection was so slow, dial up slow, that at times I thought the hotel did not want me to vent my frustration on the internet board (being sarcastic but a fact). This is not just a particular moment, but throughout several days of my stay.
(b) Inconsistent shower temperature: every now and then during a shower, water became really hot - guessed my neighboring rooms were using toilet that influenced water pressure, but i really did not know the cause but the fact I suffered.
(c) Elevator: one instance - I got in and pressed the button my floor, then the elevator door shut right away even though I did not press the "close door" button and a guest was still walking in. The guest was shut out while a glass of drink that she held was knocked down to the floor in the elevator!
(4) mattress was soft (you can say that is personal preference I suppose) and bedding was not highest quality in my opinion.

To keep it in perspective, I am elite Hilton HHonors member who have stayed in many Hilton properties and often. I have comparison points. I would say for there are better options in this area at its price point.
