Just ate for first time at a Souplantation, in Arcadia, CA (lunch). I was very impressed. A large number of fresh vegetable ingredients in addition to premade mixed salads. Fewer of the high fat items that in my opinion ruin a salad, but still some of those options, like cheese, for those of you who insist. Everything looked clean and fresh, hardly anything canned. It is self serve buffet, but still service was good. They had a number of soups I would have liked to have tried, but I only fit one in.
The "bow on top" is it also features good bread of several varieties, and a few dessert items as well.
It is not as cheap as fast food, but much healthier, delicious, and you can have as much as you like.
The one thing that kept them from getting five stars is that beverages are quite expensive. Over $2 for anything other than water. So, many people just get water. Why not lower the price of drinks so more can have tea with their meal? The markup on beverages is ridiculous.
I did not have a coupon, but since noticed they are widely available.
