“Excellent Disney hotel experience in Adventure Tower”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2014

Staying here for 8 days with a conference. Everything about the hotel is CLEAN. Housekeeping staff is very friendly as are all of the staff that we have encountered. We are staying in the Adventure Tower 5th floor with a view of Downtown Disney. I noticed that someone else said "tired hotel" but they must have stayed in another tower.

We are DVC members and have stayed in every Disney property over multiple years. This was our first time back here in 14 years but it was completely renovated since prior time. Very convenient to Downtown Disney, which while token sized when compare to Orlando, has some jewels worth enjoying. Steakhouse 55 for breakfast or dinner...Starbucks a short walk away in Downtown Disney. Would definitely come back again for this experience.

Convention pricing made the hotel very good value wise.

Room Tip: Adventure Tower is a no-lose as you either have a view of the pools (facing west) or Downtown Disney...

This was our first time staying at the Disneyland Hotel. We stayed for one night in a premium view room, located on the 7th floor in the Adventure Tower. This room had 2 queen beds and a couch/daybed. It worked out well for my family of 4. The room was very spacious, nicely decorated with Disney touches (think Mickey-shaped faucet handles). We liked the light-up headboard very much, and were able to see the fireworks from our room. This was a huge bonus for us. The staff was generally nice and friendly. Proximity to the parks was also very convenient. While it's not as close to the parks as Grand Californian, it's definitely close enough. We would definitely stay here again, even though it is quite expensive. We felt that the extra magic hour, proximity to the parks, and view of the fireworks made it worth it. However, facing the Downtown Disney area also meant hearing more of the noise. There was loud live music playing well past 10pm.

Room Tip: Ask for a premium view room if you want to be able to see fireworks from the room.

I stayed here for a business conference. I was pleasantly surprised by the room. Upper floor of the adventure tower with panoramic windows and view of the pool. I thought the room was nicely done, spacious, very clean and comfortable. The convention center and conference facilities were very nice. I loved how Downtown Disney is just steps away. It was so convenient for shopping and dining. And of course the Monorail access makes it so easy to get to the parks. I did splurge on room service and I have to say the pizza was delicious if you get a late night craving. :)
Cons-I was disappointed that you cannot rent movies in the room. However, for the kids, there are lots of stations, like Cinderella bedtime stories, Disney music, etc. Also, we went to the "Enchanted Tiki Bar" on the property. Don't waste your money. It has fun themed drinks but notice no prices on the menu...we were appalled to find out they were twenty dollars a piece and mine was mostly ice!
Overall , although expensive, I think the convenience, quality and comfort of the hotel are probably worth it.

Needs update badly. Rooms are old and tired. Convenient to downtown disney, right at the end but unable to view fireworks from hotel rooms. Very difficult to get balconies. Most of the employees I encountered were unhelpful. Downtown Disney in California can't hold a candle to Orlando. Don't think I'll be back.

The Disneyland Hotel is worth every penny. We stayed in the Fantasy Tower and we were able to walk right off the elevator into downtown Disney. However, the best treat is always the light up headboard with "when you wish upon a star" playing when my kids go to bed. The staff was amazing and paid special attention to my kids. Look for deals during the off season and you will love your stay even more!

Just had to add sharing with the grand kids a trip to Disneyland after three Spring Breaks at Disney World. So glad we did this.

The Hotel is different and better than the Disneyland Hotel visited in the 80's. I had mixed feelings about moving the hotels back away in the resort away from the parks, but by the time we left we realized how much we enjoyed the casual walk though Down Town Disney at night with the shops, but especially all of varieties of live music worth stopping and listening to. It felt so very safe for the kids and yet surrounded by the city.

The hotel room was as promised with a day bed and two queens that were extraordinarily comfortable. The teens enjoyed the headboards and all of the various Mickey touches throughout the room and the grounds.

Helpful staff is never far away and waiting to assist with whatever is needed. We appreciated the whole experience.

Room Tip: Talk with the staff about all of the possibilities. You might even consider asking for a special oc...

Ok so i have never stayed at a Disneyland resort hotel, only Walt Disney World but i must say it was an amazing experience. I only wish i had more money because i will never enjoy myself at any other hotel unless it's Disney.

My whole experience was fantastic. The rooms were spotless, the beds were extremely comfortable, bathroom, shower and water pressure were all top notch! What i really fell in love with was the new headboard with fiber optic fireworks display about a machined out Sleeping Beauty castle. The attention to detail not only in the rooms but the entire hotel is fantastic. In the rooms the contrast between the blue windows, carpets and decorative pillow goes beautifully with the tan wallpaper and white sheets. the furniture and all handles in the room are of top quality. Solid wood, real steel are what make up the dressers and fixtures.

The 4 pools are also fantastic. although it was a little too cold to go swimming, my wife and i lounged by the pool on the new chase lounges. They have comfortable furniture all around the resort that you can just sit and enjoy all the beautiful landscape.

The restaurants located at the hotel are also great! I really loved the new Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar and the Tangaroa Terrace eateries. At night they are especially cozy with the tiki torches and outside seating by the pool.

What really made my trip here magical was the staff. Our check in person wasn't what i would consider Disney Quality. At the All Stay Movie's resort at Walt Disney World they say to you "welcome home" when they greet you, he simply said "checking in". It seemed like we were bothering him by checking in, not to mention his breath was REALLY BAD! But he was the only bad apple in the bushel. Everyone else was so friendly and kind, always smiling and saying hello.

I especially loved one of the maids who when i asked her if a lot of people took those blue pillows, she gives me four of the sham pillow covers with the Mickey heads embroidered in them! I am sure it wasn't allowed but it made my kids so happy even though we were leaving!

Definitely stay here over the Paradise pier unless you are on a budget. I also prefer this hotel over the Grand Californian even though i haven't stayed there yet. There is just something about this hotel that is so magical, i don't know what it is but i plan on staying here long enough to find out!

Room Tip: if you plan on staying in a standard view room be sure to request the Fantasy tour. that had THE BES...
