“Disappointing”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

I think this place is loosing its touch. We used to stay here every year when kids were small and stayed here last year with kids and grand kids. But this year stay was very disappointing. They charge for bags of tea but not for coffee. Worse than any place I have been to. Took long time for to get response to calls. The price for the Disneyland keeps on going up and the wait time at each ride anywhere from 30- 60- 120 minutes ,figure how many rides you can get a day . Not worth it. Next year taking Grandkids elsewhere. Exorbitantly overpriced hotel .

Most comfortable bed ever! Location perfect, 5 mins to both parks down through Disney Way with shops and restaurants. Clean rooms, good size. Pool area sheltered. My kids 11 and 10 so the hydro slide a bit tame for them. Front desk, shop assistants at the hotel always happy and helpful but the pool staff seemed aloof and a bit miserable all the time. We were high in Frontierland and had a great view of fireworks from disneyland. Drinks from machine available on all floors but you could not use cash, had to use credit card. Although the shop down at reception does sell drinks for the same price. If you want to order birthday cakes etc you do need to give 3 days notice. Espn and earl of sandwich restaurants within 1 minute. Espn is a sports bar and restaurant whereas we had breakfast at the early of sandwich as had super fresh bacon and egg mcmuffins which were cheap. The breakfast at Disney hotel at disneys kitchen was expensive but fun experience with the characters.

Room Tip: Higher up gives you good view, Frontierland high up has good fireworks view.

Pro - location
Con - overpriced
If convienence is what you are seeking being close to park then yes, but otherwise hotel is way overpriced for what you are paying for. No help from bell desk when checking in, front desk service was ok, but not "Disney" special. You can save a few hundreds of dollars a night by staying at a "neighbor"hotel and would be better off in my opinion.

It's all about the children when you stay here, and perfection was everywhere as far as they were concerned! So while you might notice a thing here and there, it's all good. We got the least expensive room, so that means a parking lot view at the Frontier Tower. Warning: you will hear other people's children next door as you try to sleep. The hotel complex has been renovated, so most everything has more current look. A crib is available to you in the closet, and there are many fun Disney details in the room. The grounds are well manicured and clean, the staff is friendly, and the proximity to the park/shops is priceless.

After waiting 30 years to finally afford a stay at the Disneyland Hotel I was sadly disappointed. The rooms are a good size and comfortable but not having hot water the entire stay was a downer. They did explain that they were having some type of issue adn were working on it but I found it odd that the water from the sink was hot but not the shower. Finally on day three when I called again and expressed my complete displeasure in spending $350 a night for no hot water they discounted the room price. The hotel is no closer than the ones on Harbor Blvd such as the Ramada Inn Maingate so it is about a 10 minute walk to Disneyland. I've been going to Disneyland every year around the same time for the last several years and stayed at several different hotels and although this is Disney and the grounds were beautiful and it had many things to do it's not worth the money considering I am only in the room to sleep.

Room Tip: We over looked the pool which was beautiful.

I can't say enough good about the Disneyland Hotel!! They go above and beyond in their service and hospitality. From the moment we were greeted at the front desk, we were whisked into the Disney Magic. The hotel is beautiful as are the grounds. We had a beautiful room with a balcony on the top floor of the Frontier Tower that looked into Cars Land at California Adventure. The staff is so friendly and the pool is awesome. Our 9 year old couldn't get enough of the water slides and our 6 year old liked the smaller water slide and the shallower water for smaller kids. The pool has life vests for kids of all ages and plenty of hot tubs and lounge chairs for moms and dads and the mai tais are delicious. It's a short walk from the hotel to the Disneyland and California Adventure parks and is right next to Downtown Disney which in itself has a lot of fun things to offer. The monorail is so convenient from Disneyland to the Disneyland Hotel so you can head back to the hotel to rest up at the pool before heading back to Disneyland. Disney really puts thought into the small details and our room was incredible. The headboard in our room lit up with fireworks and played a song which our girls loved to fall asleep to every night and having Mickey Mouse call them in the morning to wake them up made them so excited for their day. We have some special dietary needs that the Disneyland hotel went above and beyond to help us out with. The gluten free options were plenty and our girls lit up when they saw the huge pile of gluten free pancakes that room service brought up to our room. It was so convenient to be able to write our breakfast order on a card that you hang from the door at night and have breakfast arrive right when we asked for it. We ate at Goofy's Kitchen also while we were there and met with the head chef who so kindly went through the menu with us and the breakfast buffet to help us know what was gluten free and there were TONS of choices so that was awesome! And there were lots of characters that we got to meet at breakfast that we hadn't been able to meet in the parks. It was definitely worth it and a great way to end our trip at Disneyland. We also took advantage of the service that the hotel provides where anything you buy in the parks will be delivered to the hotel so you don't have to carry it around all day. That was wonderful to not have to carry things around all the time. Everything about the Disneyland Hotel is magnificent and I will never stay anywhere else when we're visiting Disneyland!!

On arrival we where surprised that no one would help with bags, so we took our bags to check in and was told our room was not available, come back later, fair enough I thought as we where a few hours early, so we dropped bags off at bell desk which where happy to help store bags,
Returned later in the afternoon and our room was ready, pleasantly surprised with the room, great view of the pool, I did pay extra for that.
spent two nights.
Overall a good stay, great character buffet breakfast.
The only issue was a lumpy bed and the chaos at reception with huge queues.
Had previously stayed at the grand Californian, I think we would go back there in the future for that little extra disney magic.
