This was our first trip to Disneyland so we decided to stay in the Disneyland Hotel. We were not disappointed.
From the grounds to the interior decorations, the hotel is pure Disney. The rooms are huge and are beautifully decorated. We were in the Adventure Tower on the 6th floor and had a view of Downtown Disney and parts of both parks. We could see the DL fireworks each night. There were performances going on each night in Downtown Disney but the rooms are sound-proofed very well so the sound was minimal.
The pool was incredible...it's still cool in California but the pool is heated. The worst part is getting out into the air...other than that, the pool and water slide were great.
My favorite part of the hotel, though, was Trader Sam's...and I don't even drink. The restaurant is very close to the pool and lit with tiki torches at night. They serve non-alcoholic drinks that are wonderful. Try the Schweitzer Falls...you'll thank me later.
Overall, I can't say enough good things about the hotel. Was it expensive? Yes....but the convenience to the parks, Downtown Disney and the extra hours were huge perks. Not to mention the feeling that you were actually a part of the whole experience. I just don't think I would have had the same feeling staying at an off-site hotel.More
