We stayed here for two weeks in the middle of the busy summer. Although Peacock is not as nice as our home resort, we found it to be great. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and good enough. It is not a luxury resort, but as long as you already know that, I think you'll be pleased. Here's my opinion...the resort is tastefully decorated. The continental breakfast is simple, but it's free and it gives you an OK start to the day. We bought a jar of peanut butter and some cheese and that was good enough for us. Who wants to eat a huge breakfast when you are usually eating a big lunch and/or dinner? Sometimes we even grabbed some juices and bread and made the kids some PB & J sandwiches to take with us. They liked it. The breakfast rooms are sometimes crowded, but they provide trays and we would just take the food back to our rooms. They never ran out of any of the food and the coffee was fine. The indoor pool and hottubs are small, but nice. My husband and kids (4 of them) loved them. I prefer to be outside basking in the sun when I am swimming, but most of the time, we used the pool after a long day at the parks anyway. It is true that all the smokers hang out on the sundeck. We just avoided it. The laundry facilities are small and busy. My suggestion is to get up early and get up there about 10-15 minutes before they open. We did that a few times and never had to wait to use them. We loaded up all the washers and did all our laundry at once. We also bought our own detergent. The location is about 2 long blocks from the Disney entrance. We found it to be in walking distance. It is probably a mile or so into the park, but not too bad. There are lots of restaurants around the hotel and convenience stores. The resort leaves a goodie basket in your room filled with cookies, water bottles, paper plates, plastic utensil, granola bars. It was a nice touch. The parking lot is tight, however we always found a spot even late at night. One time our car was blocked in, but they had the keys right at the front desk so they came out and moved it immediately. The rooms are fairly small, but we were not there very often so the size didn't really bother us. The noise that others complained about never affected us. We heard alot of sirens outside, but we never heard the laundry factory across the street. So, overall I think this place is good enough. We were happy with our stay and would certainly stay there again. I think you just have to know what to expect and these reviews help.

Dec 3, 2005....This was our third stay at the Peacock Suites. We have always found it to be clean and very family friendly. We spent 8 days this time and had a perfect visit... paid $89.00 a night! Staff was VERY friendly and helpful.

Our suite was on the 4th floor which was great! We had a room with 2 queen beds, dresser with 4 big drawers & armoir with hangers & iron/board. Room also had hairdryer, safe, microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, 2 TV's and a VCR. (Great storage drawer in living room under TV for movies/Games)

The hotel has a very clean laundry room (located on 4th floor)with 3 washers and 4 dryers which cost .75 a load. (Great Deal!) Soap, bleach and dryer sheets available. We never had to wait to use the facility. They also have a very nice sundeck on the 4th floor...nice place to eat a meal/snack or tan. The Pool and spas (2) were very clean with towels available. They also have a handicapped accessible bathroom ajacent to the pool. No need to run back to your room for a potty break! Parking is tight, but certainly manageable. Lastly, they will request that you attend a time share meeting. JUST SAY NO! No Problem & they didn't bug us at all.

after reading all of the negitive reviews we were a little worried to say here. we stayed in oct of 2005 for 3 days. But after we arrived we were very plesantly surprised. yes the parking lot is small, but there is a parking garage also. the pool area is near the parking lot but is beautifully landscaped and you can not even see the lot form in the pool area. we also had a room on the side of the coin laundry, slept with the window open and heard NO noise at all.
The rooms are quite charming, with french doors seperating the living from sleeping area's. the room was very clean and the maid service even hung our swimming suits up properly for us. They have a lovely little gift shop although it is in a poor location and hard to find. we were called 1 time by the time share people and after we politley declined we were not bothereed again. the front desk was very pleasent and when we arrived early let us check in at 10 am.
as for being close to disney land, it is! yes it is a little to far to walk, as it is 2 city blocks. (that is 2 big blocks) but there is suttle service. drove to disney on our own. it takes just minutes and is nice to have your own car there. the hotel is also close to the beach area and crystal cathedral, which is just beautiful and worth spending and hour walking through the grounds. we would stay here again and recomend it to others!!!!!

Located 2 blocks from Disney but too far to walk. We avoided the shuttle and paid $10 to park at Disney so we were not tied to a bus schedule. It looks nice from the outside, but the rooms were old and needed some updating. It was described as a 1 bed suite, but is really was just a standard hotel room separated by a glass partion. I saw a long black hair stuck to the bathroom ceiling and other hair on the floor. I don't know if the maids don't care or it is the clientel that goes there. Remember, this is Disney and it does cater to the masses. Don't bother with the free breakfast- it was in this tiny room and about 100 people were pushing and shoving for a cup a coffee. All there was a loaf bread, a toaster, and tiny cartons of oj, styrofoam plates, and screaming kids. YOu are better off to buy bread, etc. and have it in your room since there was a fridge, toaster, and micro. I wouldn't recommend, since there was about 200 hotels around the area from small to large and everything in between.

We are SVC owners, and after our trip to this place, have a very sour taste in our mouths. I don't know how they ever expect to sell someone a timeshare using this place as an example!
Checkin later in the evening...I called a week prior to request that the 2 rooms we booked be adjoining or at least close to each other....they ended up on the same floor in opposite sides of the building...not good for a large family gathering to say the least. On the way to our rooms we were called back and told that those rooms were no longer available, so had to substitute...so much for being Shell owners with reservations...we were told that they were sold out that nite and would have to move the next day to another room! NOT ! I was told when I called that they had an internet terminal in the lobby, so I didn't bother to take my laptop, as I depend on email for day to day business...(we were there Friday to Tuesday)...turned out it was broken and no one made much of an effort to try and have someone come in and fix it. It was out of service the whole time we were there. They offered to give me a map to where I could use the interent...six blocks away. The hotel next door wouldn't let me use theirs (even if I paid) as it was for their guests only...so much for good will!
The rooms were very tiny, and old and musty....didn't get towel service the first day after arriving, but did get a real quick call to come to a timeshare presentation.
The shuttles to Disneyland were not always on time, and the cost was 3 bucks each per day to ride, which wasn't that bad, but next time I would pick a place across the street from the main gate...they looked very nice and attractive.
The promotional material with our Shell reservation said that Peacodk Suites was the "most beautiful property in Anaheim "....don't know who voted that in, but it certainly was not.

Overall....very disappointed, plan to complain to Shell. This place is NOT your normal Shell property and I've staying in a number of them.

We are owners/members of Shell Vacations Club (SVC), and Peacock Suites is one of the member resorts. We picked this because we had points to burn and the close proximity to Disney. Because of the time of year, the "resort" is heavily discounted on points required to stay there. That being said....we got what we paid for. Our dates staying there were October 2-6, 2005.

Checkin: Flawless...desk people were quick to get us our keycards and point us where our rooms were and where to park.

Concierge: Nothing more than a SVC salesperson trying to get us to attend a 45 min "owner update" for $100 Disney Bucks. This might be inticing is the timeslots were earlier in the day (currently the timeslots are 3:30 and 5:30pm).

Parking: Rather crowded and tight parking spots. On the good side, none of the spots are very far from the lobby and/or staris/elevators.

Ambiance: Peacock Suites is neither luxurious nor a dump. There are signs of wear and tear (carpets, paint, etc...) one would expect from the post-summer season, but it doesn't feel like a Motel 6 either. The vegitation tries to look tropical, but doesn't feel tropical.

Room: We stayed in a 2-room suite which included 2 Queens and and partitioned livingroom with fold-away couch-bed. The room had ample room and included a large dorm fridge, mini microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, safe, etc...The only annoyance was the small bathroom.

Room service: beds were maid, place was clean...nothing was missing. One thing that really annoyed me was the small coffeemaker was not cleaned out one morning I used it.

Food: The continental breakfast was very basic, cartons of juice, packaged oatmeal, Von's bread, some fruit, etc...one trip for coffee is all we did.

Pool/spa: Never visited

Kid factor: Noted from previous reviews that some people were pretty irritated by the kid infestation, but with the off-season crowd, this was not a issue with us.

Checkout: 2 minutes...perfect!

In summary, our stay was unremarkable. I would probably stay there again if we go to So. Cal in October again.

We stayed with friends who have a time share through Shell Vacation. Peacock is a hotel.

First impression was the parking lot. The spaces were sooooooo small our mini van didn't fit. Husband had to let us all out, then pull into the space.
Found out later, they don't have enough spaces for all the rooms!!!!!!(came back at 1 am and had to park in the driveway to the parking garage!)

Went to the desk and checked in. then we had to go over to the concierge, and all she wanted to do is sell us stuff(resturants, timeshares, etc.). Did not like that. Personally this hotel does NOT need a concierge.

Went to the room. LOVED the room. It was very large (slept 8) Had a master bedroom, king size bed with its own bathroom. The other bedroom had 2 queen bed. The main bathroom was normal. The living area was big, with a sofa bed.

What we didn't know is that the hotel and those large rooms are located RIGHT NEXT to a Laundry Company. Everyday at 2 a.m. they would start up. One day I thought it was an earthquake because the bed started to shake!!. The noise is so unbelievable!!!!! Even with the air condition on you could hear as clear as day. This went on till at least 6pm (went back tot he room at lunch and dinner)

If you are desperate for a room, then go for it but I do not recommend this hotel at all!!!!!
