Good location an easy walk to Disneyland & Gardenwalk and located right next to IHOP. Modern looking lobby, well stocked gift shop. Nice pool. Onsite laundry a bonus. Quiet and tidy rooms. Nice large HD flat screens. Free internet. Comfy beds
The following could do with some improvement:
1. No Restaurants on-site?
2. A coffee shop, the snack corner didn't give much options.
3. In-room dining finished at 8pm!
4. No pay movies.
5. Cable channels were lame as!
6. Huge resort fees! C'mon this aint a resort.
7. Buffett breakfast had very little selection, and by the 4th morning our group passed on this.
We also had a problem where 2 nights in a row we were awoken after midnight to what was a false alarm. 1 night is excusable but a second time at 4am in the morning is inexcusable and definately put a dampner on things. We decided to check out earlier than planned that morning, to their credit they gave us 1 night for free.

In conclusion you pay for what you get, we paid and average nightly fee of $125 excluding taxes. My advice is if you wanna stay in the same area within walking distance to DL pay a little extra and go stay across the road at The Sheraton Park, its heaps better and worth it.

We arrived early for check-in just in case they had a room available the gal pre-checked us in and was very pleasant. we then went into Disneyland as it was about 1:00 in the afternoon plenty of time to see some of the park and visit shows. When we returned to check in at 10:30 pm we were informed that there was a $200 incidentals/amenities charge (now we had paid for an all-inclusive Walt Disney Travel package ahead of arrival which included this charge) I of course balked at this charge as I was not about to have $200 held for the length of my stay plus 7-10 days after check-out. The Night time 'manager' a short Asian fellow finally acquiesced to just $100.00 fee which I still think is ridiculous. we were not using the phone (why? we have cell phones for calling), we were there solely to go to Disneyland (left before the park opened and returned at closing each night so we wouldn't be using any in room movies or amenities we were too exhausted and just going to sleep. From that point not one person on the staff that had to work with us was nice. The women Smarmy and the Men just plain rude. I am confident that they must have put a note on our account because not one member of this staff was friendly! NEVER! Then also to ad insult to injury... the Asian night manager made our parking validation expire at 11:59 the night before check-out so that we couldn't leave the parking lot without going to the front desk to check out. What was he afraid of we were on a TRAVEL PACKAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAD NO INTENTION OF LEAVING EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and as I stated it was really just a place to sleep for us. In spite of the front desk staff, the room was excellent, luxurious, absolutely loved the alarm clock that had an Ipod dock so that I could charge my Iphone and listen to my music to drift to sleep was fantastic clean and neat. The room was nice enough for me to stay again and recommend to others but the rudeness of the staff to my wife and myself as well as to others I observed, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone. No one needs to be treated rudely especially by anyone in the hospitality business.

The Red Lion is clean, modern, comfortable and well equipped. The price was reasonable for the location, just a short walk from Disneyland.
For a bit extra request a fireworks view room and watch the nightly show for free.
Previous reviewers have commented on the standard of housekeeping. Our room was clean but when we checked in there was a room-service tray outside one of the rooms which was still there the next morning. A bit surprising nobody goes around checking for that sort of thing.
And in case you were concerned the fire alarm definitely works, a bit disconcerting to hear a loud female voice telling us to evacuate at midnight but it soon stopped, false alarm.
I wouldn’t particularly recommend the breakfast. For $8 it’s only the standard buffet style you get included in the price at most chain hotels these days. The only extra is someone comes around and fills up your coffee and clears the table. There is an IHOP right next door so you do have a choice.
The other extra is parking at $14 a day. Not unreasonable if you walk to Disneyland.
Overall the Red Lion is a cut above most of the comparable priced hotels in the area and isn’t particularly Disney’ed out.
If I’m back in Anaheim I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was pretty nice. Good location. My problem is with these resort fees. $14 every night! I'm sorry but this is no resort. The only reason the hotels in this area are doing this is because they can. There is no added benefit to the guest for paying this fee. So that is why the low score. And every hotel I stay at that charges this ridiculous fee will get the same rate. I suggest everyone do the same.

We were a bit worried about staying here as we knew nothing about it, because it was a stand in accomodation as our holiday had been cancelled due to the ash cloud. We couldn,t have been happier when we did arrive. The staff here are excellent, very helpful and friendly and booked us some sightseeing tours the day we got there. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was totally brilliant and set us all up for the day with a wide and varied selection. The kids loved the swimming pool and there is a great atmosphere around it at night, when the kids play the adults chat,we all made new friends there. There are laundry facilities. There is a fridge, microwave and a coffee percolator in the room and a large flat screen tv.We actually got picked up at the door of the hotel 3 days in a row to go on various excursions and this was excellent. The hotel is within easy walking distance of a variety of shops and restaurants and is very close to disney. There is plenty to do here and we were all sad to leave the red lion.the only downside was that the hotel is situated very far away from the city and if like us you want to go there you will need a car or to book excursions as we did.

Room- spacious 2 bed, updated with pillow top, nice coffee and microwave station, nice and large bathroom with Bath and Body Works products
Pool- nice pool, warm, rattan with pillow furniture and plenty of tables to have lunch etc
Lobby- modern, nice large sitting lounge area and electronic where to go board
Restaurant-nice but during our stay there was a malfunction that they had to serve breakfast in a conference room
Gift shop- nice products with reasonable prices and last minute items available but of course sort of expensive
Location- less than 1/2 mile walk.. but if you have little tired kids you may want to use the Transit
Anaheim Transit- PERFECT... buy a 3 day pass for $10 adult and $3.00 for kids, CANT beat it!!! It drops you off right at the DLAND entrance
Rates- Had the AAA rate and well worth it
DOWNSIDE- $14 parking fee and FEE to use the computer should be FREE
Food- IHOP next door and walking to several other restaurants DONT GO TO KIDS BUFFET or something.. awlful food for $9.00 a person..

Good location - walking distance to the convention center and Disneyland parks. Lobby decor is up to date.

Poor housekeeping. The rooms were extremely dusty. There was dust on the lamps and tables. Happened to try to make a call only to find that the phone was not plugged in. Reached down for the plug- big mistake! Dustballs were unleashed! They did not refill the coffee and sugar nor did they refill the soap and shampoo bottles. They did not clean the soap dishes which had build up of residue. The white linens makes it look classy but they were dingy and the shower curtain has brown stains that looked like it hadn't been washed.
