Booked two premium Disney view rooms for our family. The rooms were well appointed, with our online order from Vons already located in our room when we arrived. It was great to have our room ready at 9am, especially after such a long journey. The beds were comfortable. The view was nothing spectacular, but the fireworks were lovely. Didn't use the pools due to the weather so can't comment on these. The staff were very helpful with all queries, and great at organsing transport. The walk to Disney was easy, I know many say it's too far, but we found it an easy walk even after a long day at the parks, we even took walks back for a break a couple of times. Mimi's was great value for lunch and dinner, we didn't try breakfast. The only negative was the rooms were sold as accomodating five, but there was a daily charge for a foldout bed for the fifth person.

We got a good deal on this hotel with westjetvacations for a package deal. Thought we may do the waterpark on site for our 4 year old daughter, but we didn't have the time with our 5 day park passes and other stuff. The walk to the disneyparks wasn't too bad, but there are other hotels closer - it isn't very close like a 5 min. walk - more like 10-15mins. This is at the end of the 'strip' before you go across the overpass to more residential, etc. Next time I would spend more and stay at one of the hotels on the parks. The first room they gave us wasn't what we booked. It was terribly tacky and old looking. It overlooked the waterpark and had 2 double beds. We had booked a room with 2 queen beds and whatever other extras. So we called down and said this isn't what we booked and didn't want to be over the waterpark for noise reasons. So they gave us a room in the building at the far back near the pool. This building was better, but also run down. The room was different then the other for decor, etc. Newer building I'm assuming. This building at least had an elevator. We lugged our suitcases up in the other building and then had to take it all back down. They do not help you with your luggage and didn't have a cart to offer us. That was not fun moving around with a 4 year old and and suitcases, etc. Beds were clean and comfortable, but the rooms were dumpy and not super clean. Our room was quiet and on the main floor. The lobby is wee little at the main entrance to walk into hotel grounds. There is a gift shop in another high rise building next to lobby area, as well as an arcade. There are 2 computers you can use in the lobby free of charge, so that was nice. The staff assisted us in booking a rental car for a day. We used the parking lot for one night with the car and it was free, which was nice. There is the Mimi's across the street for breakfast and most reasonable we found. Ihop down the road was terrible food and way too expensive. Our experience was fine at the hotel, but it was nothing special and the room needed a good cleaning between furniture and under beds and the bathroom needed some work. For the deal on our flights and 7 nights here, it was ok and I suppose about what we expected(perhaps a little lesser to be honest), but we wouldn't stay again when we do disney again.

We, too, booked here because of the price and proximity to Disney.
My 5 & 8 year-olds easily made it to the park. They are pokey walkers, and we had no complaint (anticipation??). There are varied restaurants along the way, too. We, too, did like Mimi's for an easy meal.
There is free parking and wi-fi (nice).
We booked this through an internet travel site; we were given an NQQ3 room (this was the only choice on expedia at the time I booked). This is a room that overlooks Route 5. AND BOY OH BOY WAS OUR ROOM NOISY. Thank goodness our kids were so tired out from their Disney experience that they fell asleep pretty easily. I, however, had the pleasure of drifting in and out of sleep for 3 nights of vehicles zooming by and the neiboring room playing loud music. The whole building is quite loud, actually. So...just be careful when booking.

Check-in was courteous. They were not able to change our room, but they offered earplugs. We did not require any other service from the front desk staff.

The room was large enough; the beds were comfy enough (not too hard, not too soft; adequate linens). The older TV is on a lower table, so it was difficult to see from the beds. There are lots of sports channels and one or two kids cable channels. No, we did not spend a lot of time watching TV, but when getting ready in the am, the TV was on. It is a dated, value-priced hotel.

First impressions of cleaning were not spectacular. Dirty light switches, mildew on the tub grout, gunk in the corners of the bathroom and some short of sharp shard embedded in the tile floor's grout (and ouchie if we were not paying attention). I am not a neat / clean freak, there were just a bunch of little things that added up. .

The pools and water area were a nice diversion.

I would not stay here again, not because it was awful but we can easily do better in. the area. It is recommended to you if you would like a cheap launch pad for Disneyland.

We only stayed here one night, but had a good experience. We checked in late and the hotel staff was very helpful -- got all our luggage up t the room for us while we carried two sleeping kids to bed. The rooms are very clean and have lots of extras to help with kids - microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, etc. We had a room with a view of the fireworks and they were great. I am really gladv to paid a little more for the location.

The only negatives were that some of the rooms seemed like they were really close to the freeway. Also, two cars in the parking lot got broken into during the night (not one of ours, thank goodness). Needless to say, no one likes seeing cars with broken windows -- makes the heart race.

All in all. the place was really nice and I would stay here again. I would make sure my car was empty before going to sleep.

Thank you so much for re-emphasizing the suggestion to remove all belongings from your vehicle while you are on vacation. Like most areas where there is high tourism, car thieves will take advantage of the 'vacation' mentality. We do have security that walks throughout our parking lot and around our hotel property, but it is impossible to overstate the importance of removing all belongings from your car when it is parked- not just in our parking lot, but on any property while you are on vacation. Here at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Anaheim, we have a secured Luggage Room that we are happy to store bags and valuables in for our guests for as long as is necessary during their stay with us, and most of our rooms have an electronic in-room safe for you to store things like cameras, laptops, passports, and other effects. If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to let our Front Desk Staff know- we are absolutely committed to making sure that your stay with us is as magical, relaxing and free from distractions and stresses to the best of our ability.

This hotel was great value. Very easy walking distance to disneyland especially with small children. The kids pool was fantastic. Rooms clean and comfortable. Request park facing room though a very large and loud highway runs at the back of property. We came from Australia and we could not have picked a better hotel. It had everything we were looking for. All the staff were fantastic and very helpful.

Very nice staff. The rooms were very clean also. The kids will love the pirate water park on site. The beds are really comfortable. Take advantage of the disney products at the hotel because disneyland is so expensive. bring food in there also. It was 15 bucks to rent a stroller there. The hotel also has a bigger pool that you can swim in. The hot tub is good size also. There are 2 ma and pa restaurants right there with good priced food and a mickey d's close by. The only downfall was that the walk was a little farther than we thought, but still very reachable.

A great place to stay while in Anaheim. Close enough to Disneyland that you can see the fireworks each night but far enough away that you don't get the traffic and noise. VERY friendly and helpful staff. Really lovely grounds and pool area. No need for a vehical as most attractions are within walking distance or buses will take you to attractions like knottsberry farm that are a little further away. A must 'to do' while visiting is The Pirate Show and Dinner- Great entertainment.
