We loved this hotel. Small and quiet, with airy spacious rooms and friendly yet unobtrusive staff. And the price was excellent! The front desk staff were so helpful with arranging tours and tickets for Disney, and we were within a 10 minute walk of the entrance gates to Disney! No queuing for buses or trams like everyone else, we could walk it. There are loads of restaurants along the street to eat at, and there is a great swimming pool in the hotel for kids. I would recommend it to anyone, and would certainly go there again.

This was our second year in a row traveling to Disneyland for a winter vacation. My wife left it up to me to make the travel arrangements.Last year we stayed at the Travelodge on Harbor, which was an OK choice, but it was far enough from Disneyland that I needed to buy two $3/day tickets for a trolley ride to the D-land front gate. This year, I tried to find a hotel that was inexpensive, yet closer to Disneyland. The Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel turned out to be across the street and down one block from the Disneyland entrance -- so no trolley ride was required. In addition to a good location, the hotel has a number of other things going for it. For one, the pool area was a hit with the kids, but the "Sprayground" water and lap pool turned out to be too cold to spend much time in, at least in the winter months. The hot tub was great, though. There is also a game room with air hockey and foosball & video games. That was also popular with our kids. The rooms were very clean and newly remodeled, and the maid service was fine -- always plenty of towels. In fact, the pool area had a huge supply of towels, too, which was nice. We were on the top floor of one of the buildings, so we vaulted ceilings with big skylights. And there was free high-speed internet access for our laptop. I was impressed that it was free and that it was, in fact, very high speed -- faster than my connection at work! TV was also free, although there were understandably some features such as video games & movies & channels that were not free. But the hotel really impressed us when a free newspaper showed up at our door the first morning --although we did not receive one on subsequent days of our 4-day stay. All in all, we loved this hotel, and would solidly recommend it to anyone. Did I mention that the front desk was extremely friendly & helpful, with plenty of patience with our kids (and us parents) when they asked questions. Kudos to Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel -- whomever is in charge is really thinking about customer service!

I had a good stay at the Howard Johnson, though I was slightly disappointed because of the way it is talked up here and on Disney message boards. It was clean and well maintained and manicured, which is all you can ask for from a motel/budget hotel. The walk to the parks is a little long.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The entire place was very clean. We were given a choice of rooms when we arrived early and they allowed us to look at aech and pick out the room that we liked the best! This hotel is certainly a place that I will want to return to!

We had the time of our lives at Anaheim, Howard Johnson Plaza. The staff were very helpful from the time of our late arrival ,right up to our early morning check out.The rooms were very quiet,(and we were on the highway side of the building too). All of the staff were very pleasant and professional. Our room was kept very well, and the pools were great too.VERY CLEAN.The close proximity to Disney resort is great, just a short 5 min. walk to the main gates. The restaurant is excellent (good food at great prices.)We highly recommend the place and hope you give it a try as we were not disappointed with our stay.
