This hotel was great! I have stayed at several in the area as well as the Paradise Pier and Grand Californian. Beds and pillows were the most comfortable of any place I've stayed. I was able to check in early at 9:30am, room was clean and large, water area for kids was fantastic and they even had lids for their coffee cups. A small thing but nice bonus for the walk to Disneyland. I would stay again and will recommend to others. Great for the price and just a short walk to Disneyland. It probably took us about 8 minutes from our door to the park entrance.

We recently stayed at HoJos in one of the family suites. It was perfect for our needs - the kids loved having their own room, the decor was bright and fun, the room always cleaned to a really high standard and the beds super comfortable. We found the staff to be always friendly and helpful, and the hotel's location is a real bonus - so close to the theme parks. Mimi's next door supplied us with many great meals - and there a large number of alternatives between the hotel and Disney entrance.

Room Tip: go for a room with sound proofing - we did and found we had little or no noise from outside the room

Hojo is a great value! Rooms are clean and beds are comfy. Short walk to park. Never could get in the hot tub, too crowded every night! We arrived at noon and room wasn't ready until regular check-in time at almost 4:00. First room we had was at end of hallway in building 1 and couldn't sleep because of freeway traffic noise. Next night we moved just one room in and it made all the difference in the world! Extra blankets were quickly delivered and desk staff were very pleasant.

We loved HoJo at Ananheim. It was great value for money and about a 10 min walk to the Disneyland. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that but there are many cafes and restaurants (McDonalds, Quiznos, etc) as you walk towards Disneyland so you can just grab a bite there.

A great hotel for the kids with a nice water playground. The only downside was that our room was facing the highway and that got noisy at night. We were there for just two days to make sure that we got to see both California Adventure (we loved it!) and Disneyland Park.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the highway noise.

Dear RMS83:

Thank you for sharing your comments with the TripAdvisor community! I'm delighted you enjoyed your holiday to Disneyland and your stay at HojoAnaheim. I'm sorry our new soundproofing window project wasn't complete in time for your stay in May. We've just completed 6 of our 7 floors for rooms facing the freeway, and I'm so happy to say that freeway noise is now a part of “YESTERLAND” in these rooms.

Thanks for being our Guest, and we hope you’ll return soon!

This hotel was a great place to stay. We spent four nights there. The hotel is well within walking distance to Disneyland (the four-year-old with us had no problems at all and the 67-year-old with a walking stick also had no problems).

Overall I would recommend this hotel for the budget-conscious traveller. It is really not much further from Disneyland than the Resort's own hotels (in fact, it is closer than the Disneyland Hotel), at a much more reasonable price.

We were in room 4102 (building 4) which is in one of the two-storey blocks, adjacent to the pool area. It was on the ground floor and had a small outdoor area which we didn't use at all. We felt we had to keep the curtains closed while we were in the room (at least the sheer ones) because the room was not very private when people were walking between the different buildings of the hotel. The rest of the family was on the first floor of the high-rise block. Our room was fairly quiet - the only noise we got was from people walking around in the room above us, but it wasn't enough to disturb us - and the fireworks do sound very close!

The pool area was originally what prompted us to stay here, but we ended up not using it at all. We spent the days at Disneyland and there really was no opportunity for the kids to use it.

The bathrooms could do with an upgrade - the shower rose is too low for comfort for anyone over 5'5" - however, it was clean and perfectly adequate for our stay. There is a fridge in the room which allowed us to store milk for the cereals we purchased in a local convenience store. There is no restaurant/cafe on site.

We spent the first two days of our holiday at the Desert Palms Hotel & Suites at Anaheim because they offered rooms with four beds for when the children were temporarily staying with us and even though the room we had at that hotel was bigger, with a separate bedroom for the children, the standard of the Howard Johnson is better. In hindsight, we should have just bought two rooms at the Howard Johnson for those first two nights.

My only gripe is that we weren't offered any assistance with our luggage. We had four suitcases, plus smaller carry-ons/backpacks, and only one adult in the group (myself) who was physically capable of dealing with the bags. At least an offer of help would have been appreciated.

Overall, a good hotel for families on a budget.

Wow, wow and wow. Terrific hotel in Anaheim, very close to Disneyland, only a 5-10 minute walk. Rooms were good size but had smallish bathrooms. Very clean. Basement laundry was well used by us with washers and dryers at very reasonable prices. The small gift shop was well stocked with everything you could ever need at very good prices.

On the walk to Disneyland you will pass lots of restaurants which we made good use of. Free Wi Fi was also a bonus. Citadel bus also stops at the Hotel.

You won't be disappointed, a very family orientated place to stay.

I selected this accommodation after reading reviews on tripadvisor and close proximity to Disneyland
~10mins walk in the morning and ~20mins walk (more like crawling after walking all day in Disneyland) in the evening :)

I paid extra for a room overlooking Disneyland but could do away with it as I was at Disneyland the whole time. As we visited during Thanksgiving week, Disneyland was opened till midnight the whole week and we did stay till midnight.

Room facilities is good but room is a bit dated.
