Was very happy with the hotel. We had the kids suite which is very large for a family of five. The kids had their own room with bunk beds and sofa bed and plasma tv. Parents room has king bed, fridge and very roomy. This was our last stop while touring around and found it nice to have some space as most of the hotels in America dont accomodated families. You are normally all in one room and one tv. Very close to Disneyland and you can watch the fireworks from hotel. Pool is lovely and the kids loved the water park as I thought it may be too young for them at 13 & 10 but they had a ball. Room can be a bit noisy from the freeway if you are a light sleeper but had no trouble as you are normally exhausted from the theme parks. Staff very helpful with any questions and mimis is a great restaurant next door. Would definately recommend this hotel for families and very affordable.

Room Tip: Kids suite as 2 separate rooms and 2 bathrooms

Hotel was nice and close to Disney. The reason we booked was for the splash park but never made it there. We were too busy at Disney. The hotel and our room was very dirty and a normal double stroller does not fit through the door into the room which led us to leaving our kids in hall sleeping while we got ready for bed. There was grime on the bathroom and main room lightswitchs There was even more grime behind door in the bathroom. There were cherrios on the floor that were there our entire stay and there was a grape between headboard and bedside table that also remained there for our entire stay. We were a little apprehensive letting our 9 month old roll around on the floor. Also the TV required 10 minutes to warmup. Our reservation was mishandled, even after I double checked it. Overall would not stay here again. As it was our first trip to Disney and we plan on returning there, I can say for certain there will be availability at the HOJO because I will be somewhere else. Mind you at Disney, all one needs is a room to sleep in and the HOJO can provide that.

Last year when I took my family to Disneyland, we stayed at the Candy Cane Inn and planned on staying there again on our next trip. However, we decided that we wanted to stay right across the street so we could walk to the parks as we pleased and wouldn't have to wait for the shuttle. My wife did some research and we decided on Howard Johnson.

We went with 2-Queen Premium room, which faced the park and had a very small balcony. This would have been a good place to watch the fireworks but we were still at the parks during the firework show. It was nice to open the balcony door and get some fresh air into the room though.

The room had a mini-fridge and microwave which was nice because Mimi's is across the street from the hotel and we were able to save/reheat our leftovers instead of eating the over-priced food at Disneyland all the time.

There was a good bit of ambient noise from outside that we could hear in the room, but we were all so tired from walking the parks all day that it didn't seem to interrupt anyone's sleep.

There was a nice looking water park at the hotel but we didn't get a chance to use it since most of our three-day trip was spent at the parks.

The hotel overall was nice but a bit dated. It is a good choice if you want to stay close to Disneyland so you can walk there. There is free parking (some hotels nearby charge extra for parking) and free wi-fi (although the signal in our room was pretty weak).

We had stayed here nine years ago, before kids. Now that we have kids, it was the perfect choice. The water park is awesome, they LOVED it! The best part is that it is open late! There were a couple of nights that we didn't get down to the pool until 8pm, and my husband and I sat in the hottub while the kids played in the water play area. perfect! Room was clean, beds were super comfy. Walk is so close. It didn't make sense to us to spend three times as much money to stay at a Disney property when we weren't there very much. Staff was friendly, helpful. We stayed on the 2nd floor in room facing the garden pool, it was terrific. Will definetly stay here next time we visit!

Staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning after 28 hour journey and they helped us store luggage and gave us a pool key and great local info.
Our room was quiet and in a handy location. I had purposefully asked for the double bed room, not queen, to avoid highway noise.
The pools were clean with plenty of loungers and towels and my son LOVED the water-park. The prices in the shop were reasonable and the late hours proved useful at the end of long park days.
We used the room fridge and coffee maker for snacks and drinks. These plus the free WiFi are luxuries you don't normally get without paying considerably more.
All in all, a great hotel for families looking for a comfortable retreat at the end of a long day.

Room Tip: We had room on second floor corner of block 3. It was quiet, handy for pools and hotel lobby. We had...

Howard Johnson was a great place to stay for our short visit. They gave us a complimentary upgrade. It was clean and well equipped. As well as a perfect location to walk to Disneyland.

Our boys enjoyed both the pool and the waterpark (despite the rain).

Room Tip: Our room was on the freeway side. We were too tired to ever be concerned by the noise but if you thi...
