Other than the decor, this property doesn't have the same feel as other trendy Indigo properties I've stayed in. It feels more like an old Catskills resort that's been renovated. The long hallways and the rooms all have low ceilings, and this makes the rooms feel much less spacious. The building forms a U-shape around a courtyard with a small pool area that doesn't get sun for much of the day.
The room and bed were comfortable, and the TV was big with great picture quality. The shower was nice too with a separate overhead and hand-held spray. Everything seemed very clean, however we saw room service plates with leftover food sitting on the floor of the hallway at 8:00 pm, and noticed they were still there at 9:00 am the next morning. We didn't see a lot of kids at this hotel, probably because it doesn't have a Disney-oriented theme like some others nearby. For us this was a good thing, but it wouldn't be if you're travelling as a family.
Most of the receptionists were friendly and gave us recommendations and tips for visiting the Disney parks. There's technically a bar/restaurant in the lobby, but I don't know who would hang out there (not us), especially since there are great chain restaurants a 2-minute walk away (Bubba Gump, Roy's Hawaiian, McCormick & Schmick's, the Cheesecake Factory). They all have good happy hour deals, even on weekends. In the...Other than the decor, this property doesn't have the same feel as other trendy Indigo properties I've stayed in. In the other direction there's a CVS and a Walgreen's on the same corner, which was convenient.
Obviously the only reason you'd be here is for Disney, so in that respect it's a good choice. You can walk to the parks in 15- 20 minutes, and unlike other properties, parking at the Indigo is completely free. It's worth considering if you can get a good rate, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice next time.More
