“Wonderful hotel in every way except for the shower......”
Reviewed October 23, 2010

We drove to Anaheim and arrived a this hotel at 1am and were pleasantly surprised to see that the desk manager had reserved a parking spot for us. He and the desk staff were very helpful throughout our 3 night stay and accommodated every need. The breakfast was good, especially for small children, with bagels, toast, frozen waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, cereals (name brand) and coffee and juice. There is a small eating area in the lobby and a patio outside. The parking lot is very small but luckily we did not have to use our car during our stay. The microwave and fridge in each room was nice. The only cons were the broken ice machine and the poor water pressure and hot water in our shower. It seriously took almost one minute of the water running in order to build up enough pressure for the water to come out of the shower nozzle. I forgot to mention it to the staff that first morning and that evening when we returned, the desk manager said he would get maintenance on it and offered another room the next day if we would like. The water was much hotter after maintenance but shower pressure was still the same:( Also, the location was very good! It takes a 10 minute walk down Disney drive to get into the park. We did it every morning with 3 kids, no problem. Some say to walk to the trams at the parking garage but this is pointless in the mornings as it requires crossing a very big and busy street. It takes the same amount of time as just finishing the walk. Now coming home is a different story as you can take the tram from the parks to the garage. Then go up the escalator to the second floor and walk out of the back of the 2nd floor, into the employee parking. The employee parking area literally backs up against the hotel and cuts at least 5 minutes out of the walk home. Not to mention the trams save your tired and aching feet after a full day of walking! If not for the water pressure, we would make this our regular Disneyland hotel!

This is an excellent place to stay if you're going to Disneyland. It's literally around the corner and a quick 3-5 minute walk to the parks and Downtown Disney. The room was very clean!! All of the furniture was updated and in excellent condition. It was really quiet too. The only thing that I didn't care for was the one of the nights we returned to the hotel pretty late and the parking lot was full so we had to park in the street. Nothing happened or anything and the parking lot is really small, but still, I didn't want to park in the street.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. We stayed there because of its close proximity to Disneyland. After reading previous reviews, I was worried that we were going to a dumpy hotel. However, when we arrived, the hotel was very clean and updated. We head a king size bed in our room, and the room was newly decorated, with microwave, coffeemaker, and fridge. It also has wireless internet. It was a very nice room. The hotel has free continental breakfast, which was a big seller for us. They have strudels, toast, eggos, cereal, oatmeal, and fruit. There is no "hot" food, unless you do it yourself. They have a nice breakfast patio outside as well.
We used the hot tub a lot. A definite bonus is that you have a great view of the fireworks from the hot tub. It beats staying in Disney with a million other people! The pool had quite a few leaves and things in it, I don't know how often its taken care of. But, it did not look gross.
This hotel is very close to Disney. It took us less than 15 minutes to walk there. If you know where you're going, that helps a lot! We walked down Disneydrive until on the left hand side, there is a post that points in for the Theme Parks. You follow that, along the Mickey Mouse Tram, and you are in downtown Disney, right close to the entrance. It is not a dangerous walk at all. It is well lit, and filled with families. Its Disney Drive, so I wouldn't be too worried. On our way home everynight, we went through the 2nd floor of the parkade, and out through the staff parking lot. That backs right onto the hotel, and cuts a good 5 minutes off the walk. There's a security guard, but he never stopped us going out that way. He will stop you trying to go in that way though.
I found this hotel to be a great deal for us. The rooms were about 50 dollars less a night then the Best Western across the road from Disney, and we only had to walk about 10 minutes more to get there. The rooms were exceptionally clean and updated. I would have paid a lot more for a room like that somewhere else.
The staff were for the most part indifferent. If you need help when you are there, you should talk to a manager, because they are a lot more helpful.

Whilst the proximity to Disneyland is good, the quality of the hotel is not. Our family of 4 awoke to a gurgling sound at 11pm. When my husband checked it out there was revolting dirty water coming up through our sink and overflowing onto the floor in our room - another room's grey water/sewage. Revolting. We demanded a new room, had to move the 2 kids, luggage etc in the middle of the night. In the morning we discussed the incident and asked if it had happened before - we were told "no". It appears from other feedback on this site that it has happened before. The best the hotel could do was offer a $25 discount - pittance and certainly not eough to make up for the experience. Do NOT stay here, there are plenty of other options.

We stayed for two days at the Best Western Courtesy Inn over a weekend trip to Disneyland for a Company Sponsored Event.

I have to admit, I wish I would have done a little bit more research on the hotels in the Anaheim area before picking this one, but it was a last minute choice and was the first one to come up on the Best Western Website.
They did offer me a very good deal for our two night stay (I was told it was an airline industry rate, but really don't know if it was or not) and all the staff was extremely friendly.

When they say it's a few blocks from Disneyland, that is true, but it's definitely not a few blocks away from the ENTERANCE to Disneyland. It is more like a 20+ minute walk to the park.
****HOWEVER, there is an Anaheim trolley that will take you into the park. You can purchase one way trips on the trolley itself or day passes at Disneyland or the hotel front desk -- just make sure you know what Number Trolley you board as all the different routes are numbered and NONE of the Drivers know where the Courtesy Inn is****
It's also not really close to any restaurants that we saw. There was one next door that was closed and for sale and a gas station across a busy 4 lane highway.

As far as the room itself, it was decent. Nothing fancy or out of the ordinary. It was older but clean - located on the first floor, next to the stairs and the highway (so it was loud and there were constantly people walking by the room), but it served its purpose.

They did offer a nice continental breakfast, but it's in the room a size of a closet and there is hardly any space to eat inside (there is some outdoor seating though). We didn't make use of the pool area but it looked nice.

I do have to give an A+ to the friendliness of the staff. They answered every question we had, gave us ideas of things to do and places to visit and even held our luggage for us (we were on a red eye flight) so we could go sightseeing.

Overall it was a good stay, but I would suggest spending a little extra money to get something across the street from Disneyland's entrance (there are at least 2 other Best Western's in that area).

I do not know what was going on with the hotel staff on this trip but it was so horrible I had to leave after a few nights!!!!

Besides what some people have already written here about the smells in the rooms of raw sewage and cigarette smoke, not so clean rooms, etc...

We witnessed on several occasions staff of the hotel coming out to yell at different people. We couldn't really tell what was going on and quite frankly didn't really want to know. But we did notice they closed one side of the parking lot to car and foot traffic and put up No Tresspassing signs. Funny thing was that the hotel staff would yell at these people, but they wouldn't yell back, they'd just leave. We couldn't figure out what they had done or why the hotel staff would yell at them in front of guests. But the hotel staff wasn't anywhere near friendly anyways. It was just so unreal to see the hotel staff yell about calling the police on people who didn't seem to be doing anything at all. We figured something wasn't right at all in that area and decided to leave.

We found another hotel for our last two nights which ended up being much much better! It wasn't the Ritz Carlton, but at least the staff was nice. :-)
