“Perfect!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2005

We arrived at the Anaheim Plaza on 12/15 and checked out on the 17th. We had booked a standard room with 2 queen beds. I didn't expect much based on the reviews on here and oh boy, were we pleasantly surprised!
Our check-in was super smooth and took less than 5 minutes. My friend Nancy and I got our 2 keys and headed to our room. We stayed in room 709. When we walked in, we noticed a pleasant smell (pleasant to us at least!) of new paint (we saw they were painting across the hall). Our room looked newly painted and renovated. We had a long hall that led to our 2 queen beds and we had a large window and a microwave, fridge and TV and a large dresser. Once you enter the door, the bathroom is on your immediate left. It is a large area with a huge mirror and a long counter with double sinks. The bathtub and toilet are in a small separate room. Nice, one could shower while the other got ready. BONUS: We could see the Disneyland Fireworks from our room!! Our room was always clean and the grounds looked nice as well. We didn't expect much for $114 for 2 nights and it was very nice to receive such a great room. Definitely recommend, will DEFINITELY stay here when the Disneyland Hotel doesn't have it's AP rates.

We arrived at the Anaheim Plaza on Thursday 12/8 at around 11:30am. Check-in was supposed to be at 3:00pm so we expected to just drop our luggage off with the front desk and wait for our room. Fortunately our room was ready and our request for a room on the 2nd floor (the top floor) had been granted. The lobby is very nice and looks like it has been recently updated; the rooms, however are outdated and could use some sprucing up. For the price of about $60 a night, we couldn't really complain. We did have a problem with noise but that wasn't the hotel's fault - there was a rowdy group that didn't seem to realize that most people are still sleeping at 3:00 in the morning! Overall, it was a pleasant stay thanks to the easy check-in and check-out process. We walked up and back to Disneyland everyday and it took about 10 minutes each way which isn't bad at all since the weather was just gorgeous. If I were on a budget the next time I came to Disneyland, I would definitely consider staying at the Anaheim Plaza again.

We stayed two nights here, 16-17 November. Checked into two adjoining rooms, both with two queen-size beds (one for my family and one for my parents)on the second floor of the 700 Building. The only reason we stayed here was that we are from Singapore and our UA flight package (through Chan Brothers) included a two-night stay at this hotel.

It certainly fits in the two-star category, but I would say our rooms were clean and on the spacious side. Our room had a small refrigerator and microwave, but our parents' room did not. Water was not a problem in our room although my father said that the back-pressure in his shower was weak. We did not use the pool or other facilities, but they appeared clean.

The walk to Disneyland (and Disney's California adventure) is about 10-15 minutes. My mother is in her early seventies and walks extremely slow, so it took us about 15 minutes. There were many families and tourists and regardless of the time of day, I felt completly safe walking along that stretch of Harbor Blvd.

Since my child and parents still prefer Chinese food, there is a Chinese takeout place (operated by mainland Chinese) right next to the hotel on Harbor Blvd and Katella, but unfortunately it is catered to Western tastes. We found the food horrible. As I recall, there are also shops selling pizza and donuts there.

Fortunately for us, we found a much more authentic Chinese retaurant, Grand China restaurant, located on the corner of Harbor and Chapman. My family found the food more than acceptable. For those of you who do not have a car and don't want to walk a long distance, Grand China delivers (min order S$20). The phone number is 714-663-8888. I am not affiliatd with the restaurant whatsover. Like most Asians on vacation, sometimes we get tired of Western food; and the Disneyland Resort has no Chinese restaurants whatsover.

The price was incredible, the rooms were spacious, our kids loved the pool and it was a 5-10 minute walk to the main entrance of Disneyland (No it is not right across the street from the main entrance like they advertise) However there were a few things that if improved upon I would then consider staying here again. I had read reviews about the dirty carpets, bad beds and lack of immediate warm/hot water, but thought how bad could it really be...well the carpets are filthy to the point that feet and socks would go black (most likely from the tar that was being constantly put on the cracks in the parking lot then being tracked into the rooms) If they could run a carpet cleaner over the floors every now and then it would help immensely. One of the beds in our room was noticable sunken in the middle. If you have any back ailements I wouldn't reccomend these beds. The water I could live with but it just took awhile to get hot at times. The grout really needs to be re-done but again something that's not that big a deal considering the price. When you check in make sure to ask if there are any large party's planned and get a room away from the banquet hall (that is if you want to sleep) The 700 block rooms are very large(no patio though) but find out again if there is a party going on in the pool side rooms. All in all price was incredible so we couldn't really complain, but I prefer cleaner floors, especailly when travelling with young children.

We have just returned from four days (11-15 to 11-19) at the Anaheim Plaza. The hotel is very clean great location, and a killer price $49.95 a night.

The pool is huge and the hot tub was wonderfull mede the feet feel better after a long day at the park. we did not eat at the restraunt, so I can not comment on it. check in was easy everyone was very helpfull. I have stayed at other hotels in the area that have very bad parking problems butnot here, when ever I took the car out never a problem in finding a parking spot in return.

We were in the 500 bldg up stairs, room was awalys clean after maid service. The room had a refigator and a microwave.

I rated this hotel as excellent as a budget hotel. If you are looking for 3 or 4 stars keep on looking, but if you are on a budget and want to save some money this is the place to stay.

Had a conference at the Anaheim Hilton but did not want to pay the outrageous $300/nite bounty. The Anaheim Plaza is an older property but is maintained very nicely. The room was clean and comfortable, the maid service was efficient everyday. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. (Stayed 4 nites) Its location to Disneyland (12 minute walk) and the Convention Center (Hilton) makes this an attractive dual purpose property. There are many properties that would fit this bill but not at $59.95 a nite (internet special. The pool and jacuzzi were heated and well maintained. There is a restaurant and Dollar car rental located at the hotel.
Recommend getting a second floor room, they have a ramp on the side for wheelchairs or heavy bags.
Bottom Line- I would definitely stay there again.

Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites. November 3-6. Room 609. First, their slogan, "closest hotel to Disneyland entrance," needs clarification. Although true, when there was just a Disneyland, today it has no importance. The "entrance" to which it refers is historical and no longer leads anywhere helpful. The main walk-in entrance is now a block north and there are many hotels which are closer. That being said, the walk is still quite short and reasonable. The hotel itself is pleasing in its style and architecture. The Olympic size pool, with the deep end at 11 feet, is nicely heated. The accompanying spa pool seems small in proximity comparison; but otherwise is fine and the water nicely hot. Our room was large and, especially for two people, more than spacious. Two double beds with a nightstand and lamp in between. Ground floor. "Interior" entrance strictly speaking is outside; but arranged as an enclosed, landscaped corridor. There is a patio door which opens onto a small, walled, concrete & small grass area. No view except the next door wing--but a nice touch, nevertheless. In the room is a small round work table with a standing lamp next to it. The placement, with two chairs, is a bit cramped in its default location. Dresser/TV cabinet should handle a family of four for several days with five drawers. Iron, board, hair dryer, coffee maker all present. Usual expected bathroom amenities. The tub/shower had plenty of hot water which showed no signs of running low albeit there was fluctuation with competition on some days. Just a single sink, but a nice wide countertop for use. Room comes with a refrigerator which has a separate frozen food shelf and is a bit larger than other room refrigerators we've encountered. Their is no Internet access anywhere on property. The $8.00 buffet is free for children 9 and younger with one paid adult per free child. This is best for a family of four, then, with both children 9 or less. Otherwise, the offered food is no better than the free buffet offered by other hotels in the area. A $3.00 add-on to get an omelet made "your way" is definitely not worth it. Check-in and check-out were both fast and pleasant. Average nightly cost of $78 varied, with Thursday being $76.43, Friday & Saturday $86.43, and Sunday $62.43 (Expedia special). If you can't get better prices, this was a great hotel. If you can meet or beat the price at closer hotels with free buffets and/or Internet access, then consider them.
