We spent 5 nights here and would definitely go back. We stayed in the suite with a sunken living room. (2 queens and a queen sofa sleeper) It was clean and well kept. It was very adequate for our family of 6 other than there is no sink outside the bathroom. This made getting ready for the day a bit of a challenge. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and helpful. We did stay on the third floor...and as mentioned in other reviews this gives a view of a wall. (we could see over it to see tower of terror) This was not a big deal for us, but if a view is important, make sure you stay on floor 4 or 5. The breakfast was less than good. They charge extra for anything truly appetizing. Still, a pastry and boiled egg works. The location was excellent if you are moderately in shape. It is almost right on the corner of Harbour so it was a good 10 to 15 minutes to the gates. Stopping at 7-11 (which is on the corner of harbor and Katella) made it so we had drinks for the day. I read a recent review that said the distance was much farther than people were saying. I could see if you turned to the right and then went down to Downtown Disney and through to get to the parks. There is however, no need to go to Downtown Disney. As I mentioned, left to harbor (cutting through the 7-11 parking lot) and then left again going down harbor makes it a nice walk. The bar and grill inside the hotel was okay. I think it was a bit overpriced and the bartender was a bit put out to have to make so many burgers (we needed 5). We did order in from a place called Pizza Plus. I intend to write a review for it as well, but STAY away. It took over 2 hours to get our food that they said would be to us in 40 minutes to an hour. We called when one hour had passed and they said the driver had just left. (they are located several blocks down on katella) We waited another hour and called again. This time we wanted to cancel the order. They insisted the driver would be right there. He did indeed arrive within 15 minutes. By this point we were so hungry that even though we had called to cancell the order, we took the food. it was cold and not so tasty.

Okay...we always book suites because the kids (2&4) go to bed around 8 and we're night owls. The standard suite we booked was sufficiant, but very noisy. The Central AC was running through our wall and creating a vibration and high pitched squeal all night. Not good. Good news - we complained and they put us in a Sahara Suite w/kithchenette. Great upgrade, go with it if you can. The rooms are OK, but we all know this isn't a luxery hotel. The free breakfast in the morning is fine, toast, hard boiled eggs, conrn flakes, muffins does the job. You are about 200 yards from a shuttle in one of the Disneyland parking lots that takes you to the entrance. 200 yrds with 2 little ones seems long a few times but looking back...not bad at all. Overall, I would say that the Sahara Suite is worth it if you need little ones a a separate room. Next time, if we're not penny pinching, we'll probably fork over the cash to stay at the Disneyland Hotel for the ultra conveinience.

Opted for this Hotel instead of the resort hotels which are getting too costly! (Would rather keep cash in pocket for the park!) A little further from the entrance than we thought, but we enjoyed the walk none the less. I went at 6 months pregnant and found everything to be in order. We had a two room suite which wasn't bad at all. We really loved the two bathrooms as my parents accompained my husband and I and our 3 year old. The 7-Eleven right next door was great for coffee in the morning!! The fridge came in handy as my son enjoys his nightime milk. We never made it to the complinentary breakfast, but IHOP, Denny's and numerous other places to eat are on the way. Do NOT eat at CAPTAIN KIDDS accross the street from the park!! Too much money and we couldn't swallow the food either! (Not Joking)!
All in all we would stay here again, the front desk staff was friendly and were happy to handle all of our issues that did arise. We didn't experience the noise issue either, we stayed Wendesday through Saturday.

Just returned from 7 days in Anaheim. We had originally booked all nights at the Desert Palms...We left after two nights...Several reviews say great location...I suppose if you are full of energy after 8 or 10 hours of Disney, you're right. A real perspective...dragging an exhausted 6 and 9 year old back to the hotel takes about twenty minutes. As one traveller wrote 150 yards from the second entrance...wrong! you may be 150 yards from the Downtown Disney entrance, you then have to walk another 10 minutes through Downtown Disney. Some of these reviews are very deceiving! We switched to the Best Western Park Place Inn. It was a moderate hotel...Very basic, not fancy but the housekeeping was good and the location is great. If you are anticipating having tired kids, this is the place. (the Tropicana is right there also, but I don't have any info about it). Even if you don't stay at the BW Park Place...Do your research and use that hotel as a guide to where the entrance to the Disney area is.

Happy Travelling...

We booked this hotel after reading all of the positive reviews. It was not as the reviewers had made it out to be. The bedding seemed dusty. We booked a suite with 2 bedrooms. The children's room was on the side of the hotel with the pool. There were very loud teenagers in the pool until about 10:30, and the noise carried right into the children's room. Our kids were unable to fall asleep.
Also, the continnental breakfast was not very good. The only selections to spread on toast were apple jelly and grape jelly. Both of these had "high fructose corn syrup" listed as the first ingredient. There was no peanut butter, and only 2 choices of cereal.
Our last trip to Anaheim we stayed at a different hotel offering a free continnental breakfast. Breakfast there was much better, way more selection. We had expected something similar, but were disappointed. We booked at Desert Palms this time only to be a bit closer to Disneyland. It was not worth it! We will not be staying at the Desert Palms again.
