Opted for this Hotel instead of the resort hotels which are getting too costly! (Would rather keep cash in pocket for the park!) A little further from the entrance than we thought, but we enjoyed the walk none the less. I went at 6 months pregnant and found everything to be in order. We had a two room suite which wasn't bad at all. We really loved the two bathrooms as my parents accompained my husband and I and our 3 year old. The 7-Eleven right next door was great for coffee in the morning!! The fridge came in handy as my son enjoys his nightime milk. We never made it to the complinentary breakfast, but IHOP, Denny's and numerous other places to eat are on the way. Do NOT eat at CAPTAIN KIDDS accross the street from the park!! Too much money and we couldn't swallow the food either! (Not Joking)!
All in all we would stay here again, the front desk staff was friendly and were happy to handle all of our issues that did arise. We didn't experience the noise issue either, we stayed Wendesday through Saturday.

Just returned from 7 days in Anaheim. We had originally booked all nights at the Desert Palms...We left after two nights...Several reviews say great location...I suppose if you are full of energy after 8 or 10 hours of Disney, you're right. A real perspective...dragging an exhausted 6 and 9 year old back to the hotel takes about twenty minutes. As one traveller wrote 150 yards from the second entrance...wrong! you may be 150 yards from the Downtown Disney entrance, you then have to walk another 10 minutes through Downtown Disney. Some of these reviews are very deceiving! We switched to the Best Western Park Place Inn. It was a moderate hotel...Very basic, not fancy but the housekeeping was good and the location is great. If you are anticipating having tired kids, this is the place. (the Tropicana is right there also, but I don't have any info about it). Even if you don't stay at the BW Park Place...Do your research and use that hotel as a guide to where the entrance to the Disney area is.

Happy Travelling...

We booked this hotel after reading all of the positive reviews. It was not as the reviewers had made it out to be. The bedding seemed dusty. We booked a suite with 2 bedrooms. The children's room was on the side of the hotel with the pool. There were very loud teenagers in the pool until about 10:30, and the noise carried right into the children's room. Our kids were unable to fall asleep.
Also, the continnental breakfast was not very good. The only selections to spread on toast were apple jelly and grape jelly. Both of these had "high fructose corn syrup" listed as the first ingredient. There was no peanut butter, and only 2 choices of cereal.
Our last trip to Anaheim we stayed at a different hotel offering a free continnental breakfast. Breakfast there was much better, way more selection. We had expected something similar, but were disappointed. We booked at Desert Palms this time only to be a bit closer to Disneyland. It was not worth it! We will not be staying at the Desert Palms again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Desert palms Hotel in Anaheim, the room was kept very clean and tidy the beds were changed every day, the breakfast was satisfactory. We were close enough to Disneyland to walk there in approximately 10 minutes, it seemed a long way back at the end of the day but it was worth the $3 each it cost for a shuttle trip back to the cross road by the hotel.

The close location is what initially drew our attention to this hotel. Three of us decided on a "Girl's Trip" to Disneyland, one who hadn't been in years, and we read the reviews before booking. We flew in and there was a shuttle provided to the hotel door. We were an hour early for check in and were advised we would have to wait up to an hour for our suite to be ready. Not even 5 minutes later, Ray from the front desk asked us if we'd like to upgrade our room at no charge and handed over the keys to a much larger room with 4 beds and 2 bathrooms.
The rooms were rather large, with a microwave, refrigerator, and both rooms accomodated with televisions. There were doors to close the rooms off from one another, as well as from the bathroom and vanities (which are in separate rooms from the showers). The hotel provided plenty of towels and toiletries and were very clean.
The only noise we heard was the stomping of juvenile feet up and down the hall in the early morning. This is not the staff's fault as some of the reviews imply, but the negligence of parental vision.
The walk is about a 15 minute walk from its door to the Disneyland entrance. There is also a 7/11 directly next door to the hotel for your "snacking desire". We loaded up on drinks from the store and amazing chocolate from D-land, which we stored in the refrigerator.
All in all, a great stay we had. The front desk staff was very attentive and Ray made sure we were satisfied with the daily service! On the check out day, they allowed us to store our luggage in a locked room near the front desk while we visited Downtown Disney one last time. All 3 of us would definately stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel earlier this week (a weekday) and was pleasantly surprised. Knowing that any hotel within walking distance of Disneyland would not be cheap, we were still pleasantly surprised that our regular room was more like a small suite, with a living area separate from the small bedroom. The pool area was tiny but we weren't looking to swim - just stay at a decent place before a day at Disneyland. The front staff was friendly and the room very clean. We were on the 3rd floor which was absolutely silent, and the bedroom did not share a wall with the hallway - there was even a door between the living room and bedroom so if it were noisy we could close the door if we needed to. We didn't get up in time for breakfast, but we just had a hearty breakfast at IHOP up the street. Maybe the other reviewers who've experienced noise stayed on a weekend, but we didn't have a problem with noise or parking (they even let us keep our car there until we came back from Disneyland). Our room had a coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave, so you can easily eat leftovers if you're staying longer.
By no means a resort but you can do way worse.

We stayed between Christmas and New Year's at the Desert Palms. The location was great!! Being able to walk to Disney vs. fight the crowds driving was a real bonus. We opted for the Family Suite as there were 7 of us. It was nice to have two bathrooms and the extra room to move around. However, the room was in need of some definite updating. The pillows were like not sleeping with one at all. The room was next to the service elevator and the walls are thin so all outside noise could be heard inside the room. The room did have a small fridge but it made such loud noises that we finally had to unplug it. The continental breakfast was o.k. as long as you got there early. It was only available between 7:30AM and 9:30AM which seemed pretty limited. You had your choice of about 5 things (2 kinds of cereal, toast, donuts, and fruit) but if you were in a hurry to get somewhere then it was better than no breakfast. The room was clean but the best part of this hotel is definitely the location.
