“Very Good Value for Hotel Within Walking Distance to Disneyland”
Reviewed May 19, 2012

The hotel is only about a 7-10 minute walk to Disney's main gate and the entire area is clean, beautifully landscaped and illuminated with street lights and decorative lights in the trees. You can also pay for a shuttle pass that takes you to many area attractions. I enjoy walking so I preferred walking to and from Disney. But the shuttle is very close to the hotel for those that prefer to ride. The hotel staff was friendly and the rooms are larger than most standard rooms. The room was clean and neat. The only exception was an area of floor tile in the corner by the shower that needed new caulking and cleaning (it had a small spot of mildew). The linens were of standard quality (not as soft as a higher priced hotel but certainly comfortable). The pool and hot tub are located on the first floor in a small interior courtyard. The pool was heated to a very comfortable temperature that made it easy to get in the pool and enjoy it. The pool is rather small but was not overly crowded the 2 times we used it. It was clean and well maintained. The room had free wi-fi which was great! It was a bit slow but we were probably using it at peak times (early morning before going to Disney and late evening). The free breakfust buffet was very good. It was the same each morning so I was tired of the same thing by the last day. There were scrambled eggs, sausage patties, roasted breakfast potatoes, donuts, couple of cereals, grits or oatmeal, white & wheat bread for toast, oranges, orange juice, coffee, tea and 4 waffle makers. I really liked the style of these waffle makers because you could make 1-4 small individual size waffles instead of one very large waffle. The waffle batter was probably the best I've had at a hotel. It was very good. Probably all the guests take advantage of the breakfast because it was always busy no matter what time we went to breakfast. Breakfast hours were 7-10am. We were there at 7am when they opened on a day we wanted to be to Disney by 8am and were also there about 9am when we slept later. There is indoor seating but it can fill up quickly. There is also an outdoor roof top area with tables and chairs which is nice but was quite chilly and damp at 7am in May. Our room was quiet, on the 3rd floor and faced a solid white cement block wall (so new view). I didn't mind as I prefer a quiet room and I wasn't in the room much to enjoy any view. I would recommend this hotel as a great value for a family wanting to stay within budget while enjoying a Disneyland vacation. I would rate it a moderately priced but nicely maintained and appointed hotel. Also, I must commend the breakfast staff. They kept the food refilled, counters, tables and floors cleaned constantly. They were exellent!

Room Tip: We were upgraded to larger rooms so our party could be close to each other. We had 2 rooms. If you...

Just checking out of the Desert Palms Hotel and Suites after 13 nights. I have to say this is the best place to stay for a Disney holiday, and I have stayed in a few over the years. The room (we were in a Yuha suite) was neat and clean and the beds were very comfortable, bunks for the kids were large and the shower was great. The king size bed in our room was the best hotel bed I've ever slept in. There is ample room for the kids to have a bit of space for themselves and watch TV and the seperate bedroom meant we also had our own space. Staff, particularly Jennifer and Dylan, were awesome and very friendly and helpful. Pool and spa were clean and perfect after a long day at the parks. Parking is supplied and easy to maneuver around even in the large SUV we had. The hot breakfast also supplied is fantastic, despite other comments that it is limited in range, I found that the range was sufficient to have something different often enough that I didn't get bored with it. The location is just the best, 10 minute walk to Disney, 7/11 and ABC store next door, easy walk (less than 5 minutes) to family restaurants, like California Pizza Kitchen, Ihop, Bubba Gump. The on site Bar and Grille, The Sandbox, was a surprise too, the food was really good and very well priced. We will definitely be staying here again soon, it just made the whole holiday so much better to have a hotel that ticked all the boxes.

Good location, short walking distance to Disneyland and the Garden Walk shops / cafes. The room was clean and it was great to have free wi-fi, the staff were approachable and friendly.
We were in a room facing a busy road so it was very noisy at night. Breakfast was included in our package however, it wasn't of very high quality - would have been nice to have fresh fruit available.
Overall, our stay was enjoyable and it's a good hotel for the price and location.

Disneyland is only a 5-10 minute walk to the front gate. Hotel is very clean, and great layout for us. We stayed here with 3 adults and 3 children. The breakfast was included with our package, and was great for a quick start to the morning.

Room Tip: Pool area can be a bit noisy until it closes at 10PM. If you need to be asleep before this time, ch...

We stayed here for 7 nights with an 8 month old and a 4 year old in the Sahara suite. The room had a bit of wear but was clean and pretty functional. The kitchen layout is a little hard to work in but it saved us a ton of money to eat in the room. There are no sharp knives and no can opener which is a little weird. The free breakfast is awesome and the breakfast room staff are great. The pool is nothing special. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Disneyland gates and it is a nice easy walk. All of the staff that we encountered were very nice. Compared to other hotels, this one is pretty quiet, especially when you consider the large number of kids staying here. We heard some noise from the hallways but I found it to be pretty quiet overall. The one major con was the TV channels available were limited so my 4 year old was unhappy that she couldn't really watch TV.

This hotel was a great value and everyone was so nice!! There was a microwave and fridge in every room and great breakfast every morning. The transportation was easy and quick to Disneyland.

This was a sanctuary for me to find - the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. I was able to stock up for our backpack to Disneyland every day (water, lunchables, snacks, etc.) thanks to the fridge. It was next to a 7-11, a Quickie Mart and 24 hr Subway across the street.

The hotel TV had Cartoon Network AND Disney channels to keep children occupied while I got our things ready. We had breakfast and we were on our own way for a full day of fun.

And if we timed it right, we got back in time for the kids to splash in the pool and I soaked in the wonderful hot tub. It was HEAVEN ON EARTH for a budget minded single mom.
