We stayed here on a bit of a chance. We have been to Anaheim a number of times and have stayed at the Howard Johnson and been very pleased, however, due to an overbooking issue we were asked to move to a different resort and we were given a range of choices. After consulting the almightly Trip Advisor we ended up choosing to stay at the Menage. We arrived exhausted after a long flight and upon check in we were offered 2 rooms. The first would have a pool view and be slightly noisy and the other had not a great view but further in towards the middle of the building and so not so noisy. Hubby said we will give the pool view a go and we headed to the room. Well it was the very last room on the row and just about hung over the freeway. It was so noisy outside the room we could barely hear each other speak. When we entered the room and closed the door it wasnt too bad, however it was pitch black dark and the lights wouldnt work. I headed down and said we the lights were not working and it was a little too loud for us and they happily changed our rooms over for us. We were happy with the room - lovely big, comfortable bed and the TV was great. The bathroom has been done on the cheaper side with painting of the tub but it was clean and the water was hot and that is all I needed. We had a few dinners and all of our breakfasts at the restaurant and we were very happy. The burgers were great and we enjoyed the half price happy hour food from the bar outside. The fireworks are great and very loud - glad i had read about them as they didnt mention them upon check in and we stayed up for them. Had we not stayed up for them I dare say we would have been woken up by them! We didnt manage a drip in the pool as we were only here for 2 nights as a stop over and packed a lot in to our days, but it did look very nice and we didnt hear any noise from our room. We slept with the A/C on all night as it provided a bit of white noise over the traffic. We regularly walked across the road to the Starbucks for a morning/afternoon drink - we had no need to go any where else for meals as the restaurant provided very nice meals at a reasonable price.

Overall we had a great stay at The Menage and would highly recommend it. A great place to stay, close to Disney and other places with a more adult feel.

Thank you for taking time out to write a review about Hotel Menage. We are close to the freeway and Disneyland giving us the great view of the fireworks. I'm glad our team was able to accommodate you and when you are in the room the noise from outside does go away. We pride ourselves on value for price paid an I'm glad all your meals were in our k'ya restaurant... Thank you again for your review and most importantly your business and we look forward to seeing you again in Anaheim soon...

A change from the normal family resort area hotels. This hotel is trendy and upscale in the Disneyland Area. It is an easy walk to the front gates of Disneyland. The staff is friendly and the hotels lobby is very hip. The pool is open 24 hours which is a nice change from the normal pool hours. The rooms were nicely decorated with trendy, modern attire. There are large flat screen televisions in each room. The bathroom could have been more updated but everything was clean and well maintained.

PROS:
The room is clean, the TV is flat, the linens feel expensive, the furniture and art look chic... Ive stayed at this hotel twice now, once alone, and once with a group of friends.

When I was with the friends-- We had a fantastic time down at the pool in the wee hours of the morning, it never closes! (fear not...there is a security guard on hand to make sure the group doesnt get loud or rowdy, we didnt!) The bar and restuarant downstairs are quite exceptional and the lounge area feels hip and comfortable.... The room was large, all 8 of us were able to comfortably share the sleeping quarters, 2 to a bed, 1 on the chair, and 3 on the floor... (maybe it wasnt so comfortable on the floor, but they had plenty of room to stretch out!) The price for that stay was only 79 bucks, AAA rate, first week of April 2009 (not including tax and parking)
When I stayed alone--- I felt safe, I slept comfortably, and I was treated kindly. The price I paid for that stay was 90 bucks, AAA rate, stayed end of May 2009 (not including tax and parking)

CONS:
The weekend dayside wait staff is a little slow and the bartender didnt know the basic recipe for a Mai Tai. There is a fee for the Disneyland shuttle and its not really on a set schedule (They tried saying it comes by every 15 minutes, but that estimate was shakey) We ended up just walking to Disneyland... the walk to the parks gates at a leisurely pace takes 15 minutes (you really cant do it in less than that, unless you ran...maybe.) The walk may be a bit much for some if you are one of those people that needs to go back and forth to the hotel room....and our group did... so the walk got old....At the end of the night we asked one of the Taxis parked at the Disney gate to take us to the hotel (the shuttle to the hotel wasnt running at 1am..) The taxi driver was reluctant because we were only "down the street"... we had to promise a big tip. NOT the hotels fault, Im just saying, dont be fooled by the geography of the hotels location to the park... it may look like its "next door" but the entrance gates are a good distance away.

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed report. As far as the pro's are concerned, we agree that the rooms are spacious, the food and beverage operations of the hotel are exceptional and the 24 hour pool is a great feature. As far as the shuttle service is concerned, the city of Anaheim runs the clean air shuttle and we will address the issue with them directly. Lastly, all of our bartenders should have complete knowledge of how to make a Mai Tai, and I will follow up with our food and beverage team to ensure that they all have this knowledge... Repeat customers are crucial to our business and we thank you for your loyalty to our hotel. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Regards,

Hotel Menage.

From the minute I arrived at this hotel me and my daughters were treated better than I have ever been treated at any hotel I have stayed at in the world. Every single employee of this hotel went out of their way to make sure we were all three happy. That is, me and my two kids who are 5 and 7. We went because my five year old had a birthday and wanted to go to Disneyland. I was nervous going alone with two young children, but everyone was so nice here that it made it easy! The rooms were clean and decent decor. The tub/shower wasn't great, but acceptable. the pool was pretty cold. It was loud at night when the fireworks went off, but the kids managed to sleep through it. Believe me, the outstanding customer service of this hotel far outweighed any other issues. I would recommend this to anyone. It was also, super easy and fast to take a very reasonably priced shuttle ($6 for the day for the three of us!) to Disneyland. Another bonus of this hotel, was the restaurant next to the lobby. The food was fine and reasonably priced with kids. Again, the waiters and staff were over the top friendly. Making sure we were all happy. At check out Sylvia and Linda were very friendly making sure we were happy with our stay! On top of it all, the sheets were nice! softer than most hotels! Thanks everyone!

Conveniently located within a mile of Disneyland. Great pool and pool bar with a nice happy hour. The furnishings were new and trendy but the place still has a motel feel. The rooms are small and the fixtures and walls need some upgrading. Overall, a good spot for the location and price.
