We had previously stayed at Embassy Suites but decided to give Doubletree a go after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. Upon arrival, the entrance looked fantastic and the lobby was lovely. Check in was a breeze and we were given nice warm choc chip cookies, which our daughter loved!
Unfortunately as soon as you leave the lobby it's pretty much a budget hotel. The elevators could sure do with an upgrade/replacement - they were old, slow and small. Our room was in a corner and was a very odd shape. We had a booked a 2-room "suite", but it was more like a standard room with a door half way to make it seem like a suite. The bedroom side of the room was a decent size, however the living area was very tiny. The room seemed like it hadn't had a good clean for some time and definately is in need of new furniture. The room set up was weird, having the bathroom and work desk in the bedroom area (this made it hard to put our daughter down to sleep and also continue working or use the bathroom).
Breakfast was not included, however the cafe downstairs was sufficient, and the restaurant does a nice buffet.
I would recommend this hotel to a BUDGET traveller, but not for those who are looking for a bit more than a budget hotel.More
