Food was surprisingly very good and the service was excellent. My daughter loved the princesses, but what 7 year old girl wouldn't? A little expensive, but it is Disneyland and what isn't expensive?

Of course this is an expensive experience...this is Disneyland. Lunch for three adults and a 3 year old cost $159 (including 1 litre of sparkling water, tax and tip). The prices are set so this WILL be your price if you drink only water. Expensive, but....the food was much better than we had expected, our daughter got to meet FIVE princesses and, for once that day, we didn't have to wait in any lines to do it! We will definitely do this again next time we go to Disneyland. If you've got the money and a three year old girl, do it. Reservations are necessary and must be made well in advance. Breakfast is slightly cheaper.

Final tip: buy the Princess autograph book for sale just outside the restaurant, but bring your own pen. The autograph book costs about $12 and has a photo page opposite each autograph page. Our daughter loves to look through this book and it is nice to have the photo with the autograph. The pen that they sold was $7! That seemed a bit much!

I have to say, the descriptions of the food on the menu are much better than the actual food. The appetizer tower was OK, some fresh veggies, a little salad and some fresh mozzerella balls. The jello jigglers were pretty good. The dish I ordered was not very good at all. The pasta was very sticky and chewy and the sausage tasted like the kind you get on cheap frozen pizza. My chidren had the meatball lollipops and they enjoyed them. The dessert tray wasn't bad. It tasted pre-fab but it was OK. The princesses spent a minute at our table, no more. The waitress told my girls to have our autograph books at the end of the table and ready to go. They really rushed us. Once the princesses made their way through the restaurant they were gone. It's not like the other character meals where the characters spend time with you. Because of the lack of character interaction, the poor food quality and high prices I would have to give Ariel's Grotto a thumbs down. Sorry.

Not to be missed if you have a little princess. We booked a reservation for breakfast on a Thursday. The food was terrific (family style eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, fruit, cheeses, pastries, etc.) The princesses were amazing and each spent several minutes at our table chatting with our daughter who turned 5 that day. It's not cheap of course but worth EVERY PENNY to see our daughter's face when each princess approached her.

My sister, husband, son and I had a great time! My 3 year old LOVED meeting all the princesses and had time to talk to each of them. Some say this place is crowded but only two tables were being used when we went in the later afternoon in November 2009. We all enjoyed the food and it was a very clean place to eat and dine. We missed our earlier reservations and the staff was great. They arranged a later time for us and there was no hassle at all even though it was our error. Will definitely return when I visit later this month.
