“So very convenient”
Reviewed August 23, 2010

This is the fourth time we have stayed at this hotel/motel. The staff are always great to work with and the rooms are always clean with a microwave and frig. It is located DIRECTLY across from the entrance to Disneyland, which is so convenient, especially at the end of the day and you're dead tired or if you want to go back for a nap in the afternoon and return in the evening. If you are going back to your room in the afternoon, leave a request at the desk that maid service come in the morning as they sometimes don't clean until very late in afternoon. Parking is limited and you have to pay, but it is now gated. The Captain Kidd restaurant that offers a complimentary continental breakfast to hotel guests (quite adequate for most people w/cereals, fruit, juice, coffee, donuts, biscuits/gravy, etc) now serves only all-you-can-eat lunch/dinner buffets, so if you wish to order off a menu, you're out of luck.Try Mimi's (about a block up the street) for good food. Pool area is strictly basic (very), so if you have kids that love swimming you might want to re-think staying here. Overall, we would stay here again. And the price is always very reasonable.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We greatly value our return guests and do sincerely hope that we continue to meet or exceed your expectations of our property.
All comments do help us to better serve our guests. We do often have guests return in the afternoon from Disneyland for a break before the evening show and events. We would like to better accomodate these guests so they may have a relaxing afternoon break.

We look forward to having you stay with us again. Thank you for choosing Best Western Park Place Inn and Mini Suites

The BW Park Place offers great value and the location is prime for visiting Disneyland. It has a continental breakfast next door, staff is friendly, and rooms and surrounding areas are adequate. I have to say, though, the parking is very limited. At check in I had to wait about a half hour for someone to leave and then the parking was not very close to the room.
During my 5 day visit, there were always cars waiting to park in an already full lot. The other problem I found was the noise level. You can hear the adjacent room's shower and water running and people walking past the room can be heard clearly. For me, it was convenient to get to Disneyland in an electric scooter, so I overlooked the detractors.

My husband and I traveled with our two-year old son to Disneyland for the weekend. The Best Western Park Place Inn was in a perfect location right outside the entrance of the park. We were able to go to the park in the morning, head back to the hotel for nap time and go back in the evening. Consider parking in the Best Western lot when you get into town, and then pre-check in so you can just pick up the key at 3 p.m. (check-in time). We had a suite and it worked out well - plenty of space for a pack n' play, etc. This is a motel, with doors leading to the outside, so you have a bit more noise than a regular hotel. Overall, the hotel was clean and the pool/hot tub was nice in the afternoon when taking a break from the park. Didn't like the very soft beds.

They allowed up to park our car at 8:30 a.m. and said they would call when the room was ready. We got back to the hotel at 1 p.m. and sat in the lobby for a few minutes then our room was ready so they let us check in early.

Only negative was the bathroom smelt a little like mildew the morning after.

Continental breakfast at Capt Kidd's was better than most. Had all the usual breakfast pastries, plus biscuits and grayy, and four different kinds of cereals.

For a decent meal without earing a Disneyland, try Capt Kidd's buffet. Everything they had tasted pretty good.

We stayed in a King room with pull out bed for one night for our trip to Disneyland. I researched all these hotels/motels on Harbor for endless hours--in hopes to save some money. In the end, I found a sweet deal at the Disneyland Hotel from expedia for 3 nights, but we needed to spend one night somewhere else. We picked this hotel for it's proximity to the park. It is about as close as you can get to the entrance of Disneyland, so it has that going for it.

The problem is that this is sort of a run down motel. The rooms have their own air conditioning unit, but the units are very small (like a window unit) and very noisy when they are run. They also don't cool the room evenly. Our A/C was right next to the pull out sofa that my daughter slept on, and it blew on her all night, making her uncomfortable. And speaking of uncomfortable, the pull out bed in the sofa was hideously uncomfortable! I felt really sorry for my daughter having to sleep on it. You could feel each spring poking you all night, and it squeaked and creaked at every move.

The walls are paper thin, so the sounds are not muffled at all. There was a baby crying all night in the room next door, and a drunk couple arguing in the parking lot near our room. When someone would turn on their shower in the other rooms, the noise was very loud!

The room seemed a little unsanitary as well. There was hair in the shower (not ours) and the carpet looked really dirty. My girls were afraid to walk around and touch things in the room.

For those who have never been to Disneyland, the walk down Harbor Blvd isn't a nice one. It is a street loaded with motels, cheap fast food, bus exhaust and people who are trying to sell you time shares. It isn't like the walk towards the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand California, where you walk through Downtown Disney. Downtown Disney is a car-less walkway with lots of quaint shops, trees, lights, muscians and nice scents and sights. So if your atmosphere surrounding your hotel is important to you, you don't want to stay on Harbor Blvd.

We have also stayed at Howard Johnsons, which is a much nicer hotel option on Harbor, but again you have to walk down Harbor Blvd to get there.

Check in was fast and easy. The room was clean with adequate space for the amount of people in room. Hotel staff were friendly. The children enjoyed the hotel pool and hot tub a refreshing retreat after a long day at Disneyland and to beat the hot weather at midday. After a swim and something to eat at the many restaurants in the area, we were ready to enjoy the night shows at Disneyland.

The location could not be better. You can walk back for a sleep in the afternoon and get back for the evening easily! Main Disney gate to room = less than 10 mins

The hotel is a little tired but everything worked.

The breakfast is really ordinary. The staff dont care - zero customer service and really lousy food options. Lots of people hoarding food into used pizza boxes, plastic bags, hand bags, in paper napkins any thing they can find. No-one checks your room number so perhaps these people arent even staying at the hotel or perhaps just getting cheap food for their Disney adventure. Breakfast is served in plastic bowls and plastic plates with plastic cutlery

Small pool and spa.

They charge per car for parking!

The all you can eat buffet restaurant next door (below where breakfast is served) is pretty good value too
