“Disney Friendly, but Far Enough Away”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

We stayed four nights at this hotel during a recent off-season, spring break, first time visit to Disneyland with our three girls, all under age ten. The price was good, the free, twice-an-hour shuttle to Disneyland was a huge bonus and the location was just far enough away from the parks that we did not have to eat, breathe and live Disney 24/7.
The hotel staff was very friendly. The restaurant and bar were of good quality, with friendly, prompt and excellent service. The room was of plenty adequate size, with the two queen size beds large enough for us all to get a decent night's rest and recharge. The main attraction, though, was the swimming pool and whirl pool. Alcohol is allowed in the pool area, but not in glass, so bring plastic vessels, if you want to enjoy a cocktail poolside while the guppies swim and swim and giggle and swim, all the while making believe they are Ariel et al.
The hotel's exterior is also nice. The building is done in Tudor style, which maintains some of the Disney enchantment, should you not have had enough during visits to the D-parks. The grounds inside are impeccable, with a finely manicured rose garden, plenty of slugs and snails to entertain the little ones and a beautiful fountain to add ambiance.
This Sheraton offers quiet respite, very good value and quality in between the hectic, yet happy visits to Disneyland.

We stayed in at the Sheraton Anaheim during a quick trip to Disneyland. Though the lobby is lovely, our room seemed filthy with stained, dirty carpets and armchairs; likewise the hall carpets were soiled. The bathroom was very small and dated; my daughters compared it to an airplane bathroom. The staff at the front desk seemed not at all empowered to fulfill simple requests. Our room was very noisy partly due to traffic and to the hotel HVAC system. The only positive was the shuttle service to Disneyland. We paid over $200 for this room per night (before taxes) and will not be returning.

We visit Disneyland 3-4 times per year. We have stayed at almost every hotel within short walking distance to the park, because we really don't like having to drive & park. We tried the Sheratonthis last trip because they offer a shuttle to the Park. Overall it was great. The shuttle was convenient & fast. The room was quite large and quiet, with comfortable beds. We also had a roll away bed in the room (there is a charge) and there was plenty of room for it. The room was clean. On the downside, the hotel is large and very spread out. It is a hike from the Parking Lot & Lobby to your room. I had issues with WiFi that were extremely frustrating & hotel staff were not very helpful. (Again, a charge for WiFi - unless you go sit in the Lobby). The hotel is well appointed and a welcome change to the 2 star properties that are located directly across the street from Disneyland. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for a quick family trip to Disneyland. The location was great and the price was decent considering what was included in the rate. Wifi for one device, parking, shuttle, breakfast buffet for 4. All those things quickly add up, so to have them included was great. The service in the Garden Court restaurant was terrible. Slow and rude.

William (shuttle driver) and Sarah (front desk) were the only stand out team members during our stay. Both went above and beyond. The shower water never heated up and engineering's response was "you're using the shower during peak hours." This is unacceptable. I was unable to wash my hair during my stay. The walls of this hotel are paper thin so bring earplugs for screaming children at all hours of the night.

We asked for an upgrade when we arrived because of the new SPG/Delta Skymiles partnership. One member of my family is a Diamond with Delta, which according to both companies sites that qualifies for an upgrade. I'm not sure that ground floor next to the pool is an upgrade but we took it. I think a club floor room would of been more acceptable.

I noticed a billing error when I arrived home. It was fixed promptly.

Will I stay here again? Sure.

Room Tip: Do not get a ground floor room near the pool if you have little ones that sleep before the pool clos...

We usually stay at the Sheraton Park Anaheim, but this was a last-minute trip and they were booked. So, I made a reservation here. It's very close to the park and they have a complimentary shuttle. I think the Sheraton Park is a little bit nicer, but here the rooms are bigger so it was a little more comfortable with the kids. The pillows were absolutely fantastic, and I am REALLY picky about pillows. We honestly do not spend all that much time in the hotel since we are there for the parks, but this hotel gives a clean place to put our heads down and recharge. Plus, I can stay on SPG points.

This was the first hotel of our trip, and it may have been because we're not used to how polite American's can be- but we were really impressed with the staff here! The check in staff were friendly and just smiled politely and helped us when we had no idea what we were doing (thankfully they heard the foreign accent and helped us!), the guys who work in the cafeteria were always friendly and talkative, no matter what time we went in there, and the porters were awesome too. After going on to stay at 5 more hotels while in America, we realised this hotel had pretty much everything we needed, that some of the other hotels didn't provide. Cheap laundary, shuttle to the parks, cafeteria that carries food & random bits and pieces, wifi. We loved it.

We stayed 4 nights this past week. We arrived at 4pm and were able to check in quickly. We got a 2-queen bed room. Rooms are bit dated, but are a pretty good size. Bathroom is tiny. One good thing is there is a sink outside the bathroom another inside the bathroom. Shower water could have been hotter, but it wasn't cold. Beds were comfortable and firm. Pillows were too soft for my taste. Despite turning up the mini-fridge, it remained cool, but never cold. Placing something in the freezer box only got the item to what I expected the fridge temperature to be. We didn't have them clean the room during our entire stay, but asked for more towels after a couple of nights. Towels arrived promptly. Wi-Fi is extra charge, but Starwood members get it for free. Lobby did not have a cafe to get real coffee. Instead they had a self-serve machine that dispensed coffee, cappuccino, etc. This is a machine I've seen at some all-you-can-eat restaurants. Microwave available in the shop.

Best thing about the hotel was the FREE shuttle service to Disneyland. Shuttle departs from the hotel every 30 minutes. However, if there are a lot guests waiting, they will deploy another bus ASAP so you don't have to wait 30 minutes. When returning from Disney during peak hours, they will run the shuttle continuously. I guesstimate they were running at least 3 shuttles every night, so our wait was never more than 10 minutes.

Overall, the stay was just "OK". We weren't in the rooms much so the dated rooms were acceptable. The shuttle was great and the drivers were very courteous. As long as you don't have 5-star expectations, I think you will be fine staying here.
