“Pro's and Con's but I would stay again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

We arrived late at night like we always do and check in was speedy. We were very pleased by our room (family suite 2 bd rm 1 bath) It wasn't anything fancy but it was very clean and SUPER spacious. Much more so than their regular rooms. I did like the fact that our socks were not black from the carpets, something that is normal at the hotels in that area. Pro's - Clean, large rooms, location to the park, value and the valet's were all super friendly. Con's the hot tub is very small only room for maybe 4 people, we did have some staffing issues and Parking is a nightmare, but they do offer valet if the lot is full. We did have issues with our upstairs neighbors one evening, it sounded like the kids were jumping off the bed onto the floor over and over and after a half an hour of this at midnight I called and the noise stopped immediately. I did accidentally lock myself out once and because the room was under my sisters name they wouldn't let me in. I booked the room and knew I put my name on the reservation too but they said they couldn't find it. That was very frustrating. I told them that I had the copies of the reservation in the room with my name on it but he told me they wouldn't go in the room or accompany me to get it. I had my two year old with me so this was very unfortunate but luckily I was with friends and was able to hang out in their room. Overall I really liked the hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: We were on the fourth floor and in the back that means less traffic walking by your room to get to t...

We stayed at Camelot Inn and Suites for 5 nights recently. We chose this hotel based in part on the reviews here and by comments at Westjet vacations. They are also a Disney "good neighbor" establishment and are recommended lodging by the park. The location is ideal if your destination is Disneyland/Disney's California Adventure theme parks and is central to a lot of attractions up and down the coast.

Staff at the hotel seem eager to help and not once did we feel that we had been treated indifferently. The hotel sells Disney passes and books day tours for several operators. They take a deposit and then the guest pays the remainder directly to the tour operator. We booked two day trips, paying $40 deposit for each one. We then changed our plans and canceled the two tours. We assumed that we'd forfeit the deposits but the clerk at the desk called the tour operator and got us our deposit back. They didn't have to do that. It's just one example of how they cared for us during our stay.

The continental breakfast is rather ordinary, but adequate and comes with the room. The pool is very small, as is the hot tub adjacent to it. One huge bonus is that guests can see Disney's nightly fireworks from the walkway/balcony that runs the length of each floor.

The room is nicely decorated, and typical of a moderately-priced establishment. It was very clean, with no obviously worn items. The bathroom sink/vanity is outside the bath with the toilet and bathtub/shower in a separate room. Not my fave setup but I suppose for families it has an up side. We both found the beds to be harder yet less supportive than we like. They could at least use thicker mattress pads. There is no safe in the room but the hotel offers safety deposit boxes for no charge to lock up passports and valuable items.

Internet is not complimentary, you have to pay for it online. A T & T is the provider and we found the speed to be quite slow. It costs $9.95/day on top of the room charge. We also thought that the TV channels were rather skimpy, the worst we've encountered. Mind you we didn't spend much time in the room but after a full day of sightseeing it's nice to unwind to a TV show or two and there were no specialty channels, just major broadcast networks, CNN, 3 Disney feeds, some Spanish, and a couple of rerun movie channels.

Within walking distance there is a McDonalds, a couple of private restaurants, a Denny's, IHOP, Tony Romas, a Coldstone Creamery ice cream store, as well as a couple of convenience/giftware type places. Anything fancier is further than you'd want to walk. The closest mall of any consequence, with stores like Macy's and Nordstrom is a $20 cab ride - halfway back to John Wayne airport.

If you fly to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana it is about a $40 cab ride to the hotel. It is also about an $11 cab ride to the Amtrak station from the hotel. Amtrak by the way offers excellent service up and down the coast, with several trains per day in each direction. In addition there is a commuter train that goes to Union Station in Los Angeles.

This isn't a luxury hotel, it's for budget-minded people who want a clean comfortable room. We were very happy with the value for money offered and would not hesitate to recommend it. If your vacation plans take you to Anaheim, it's a good choice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to the front of the hotel. The hotel stretches for a city block back from the...

If Disney is your destination, the hotel's location is great. It is almost directly across the street from the park's main gates. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel's service is very good (they were especially understanding when our show samples arrived 1 week prior to our convention). The rooms are a bit outdated but are clean and comfortable. My team and I, who were in town for a convention, however do have a few negatives against the property. One, we had to pay for parking and wifi internet (at $9.95/day, we opted for free wifi at McDonalds which is next door). Two, the TV station choices were few and reception for some stations were poor. Three, the selections for the complimentary breakfast were few and the quality was also average to poor. Would we return? Probably not.

Room Tip: If you want to see Disney fireworks, choose rooms facing McDonalds

Camelot Inn is perfect as it is within walking distance to Disneyland, we were travelling with our young daughter and Mc Donalds is right next door 24 hours very convenient..
it was very clean and tidy and they were helpful to us on every matter.
After a long day in disneyland some days we would come back to the hotel for a swim and sit in the spa and watch the wonderful fireworks from disneyland. There is a bus stop virtually at your door steps to anywhere else you would want to go!!!
Our only down points are the breakfast, but is clean and they are attentive,
also there was no free wifi which i feel most hotels are giving at them moment and only enchances your visit, to search for things in the area, its a given service.
Thankyou Camelot for a wonderful stay,

Room Tip: quieter suites to the back of the swimming pool area also have views to the fireworks

Across road from Disneyland. Can see fireworks nightly from balcony. We had a family room which consists of 2 rooms with a bathroom in one. Would have liked an ensuite as well or at least a toilet in other room. Sink, small fridge and microwave handy. Only real criticism was no free wifi in room but there was an Internet connection in lobby at 35 cents a minute. It was not working on last night for us which was a problem sending emais confirming shuttles etc. breakfast provided in hospitality room was basic poor quality but sufficed. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Definitely go for the family room if you have older children.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Incredible location as you can see Disney gates from front of the hotel. A quick walk across the traffic lights and your there! We had a two room suite and were really impressed. Lots of space, very clean delightful!! Only issue was breakfast was poor and restaurants nearby disappointing. Best place to eat was Downtown Disney

This hotel is half block away from the crosswalk into the main Disneyland entrances. It's like a 3 minute walk to the crosswalk light and maybe another 5 minutes into the park.

The room had been updated with dark wood furniture. We had 1 king bed & 1 sleeper sofa. The vanity was outside the bathroom. The bathroom was done in boring beige. The rooms are of average quality but very clean (unlike some other hotels facing Disneyland). There's a fridge but no safe in the room. The bed was comfortable while we didn't hear much from the neighbors - only people walking by the room on the outside hallway.

The fourth floor pool area is a good area to view the nightly fireworks. In the lobby are a couple of computers for guest use. Across the parking is a small convenience/souvenir store. The hotel charges $10/day for parking. The hotel is right next to the McDonalds.

Quality-wise there's not much difference between this hotel and the 15 others along Harbor Blvd fronting Disneyland. The main differentiators are location and cleanliness - on both counts this hotel has the goods.
