“Beautiful rooms, comfy beds!”
Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

We booked this hotel based on the reviews on Trip Advisor, and we weren't disappointed! This is a beautiful hotel, with large, comfortable, charming rooms. The decor has a European flair to it, and we were very impressed with the hotel, and with the service. Unfortunately, we were only staying for one night, but would definitely book this hotel again when in the Anaheim area. The breakfast was great and the manager's reception in the evening was a very nice touch.

The hotel is a bit old but is clean. Check in and out were fast. Bed was comfortable. Free breakfast with real hot food, free parking, free Wi-Fi, and the location were the reasons why we booked Ayres Hotel. Nice comfy bed. The water pressure was strong for showering. Would come back if I ever needed to go to Anaheim, CA. ART stopped at the front of the hotel, which was very convenient. I would recomend taking the ART instead of driving to Disneyland since the ART will drop you off at the main entrance at Disneyland instead of 1 mile of walking from the parking lot. $5/day for adult and $2/day for children, unlimited ride to disney and other places. The hotel can sell your ART passes. The AC worked well, I was freezing. However, you must insert your room key to the slot in order to keep the AC running. If you leave your room and want to keep the room cool, ask for an extra room key to keep it in the slot.

Quite surprised really, our second hotel on the trip without a roomsafe so nowhere secure to leave DSLR's iPads etc even our Yosemite log cabin came with a roomsafe - there are safety deposit boxes at the front desk but they are only ieg enough for money/passports etc.

Other than that, we chose this hotel on the basis of the trip advisor ratings from others and as a result we had high expectations, and it fully matched them.

Excellent hotel at a very good price, great location close to Disneyland, and well served by local public transportation (which we didn't use). Very comfortable and spacious rooms, nice pool area, not busy so always sunbeds available etc.

Some noise from the freeway but not enough to be intrusive/disturbing sleep etc

Would I return - definitely, would I recommend it, yes.... 4 star hotel luxury at two star prices.

So when I pulled up to this hotel my heart sank - on a sliver of land between the freeway and the drive to the stadium. 'Oh this is going to be iffy' I thought. Boy was I wrong - what a GREAT hotel. Great. SUPER helpful staff, smooth check in, and a remarkably comfortable, quiet and beautifully appointed room. I HIGHLY recommend this property, and look forward to when I'm back here or at one of the sister hotels.

I loved this hotel. The furniture and design of the room was pretty, it was big and clean, and the breakfast was really good. I only thought the water pressure was too weak in the shower. Also, the beds and pillows were really comfortable. Try to pick a top floor room though because we could hear the people above us walking around.

We were on a family trip to move my daughter from the East coast to the West coast for college. Before even checking in, the hotel allowed us to send boxes for my daughters move that they stored for us until we checked in. This was extremely helpful!! Upon check in the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The hotel was very clean! The free parking, Internet and daily news papers was also very convenient, but the nicest part was the amazing daily breakfast, and afternoon wine, beer, nacho chips and cookies all complimentary!! This hotel made a difficult time for a mother moving her baby so far from home so much easier! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Room Tip: The washer and dryer is on the third floor. You will need quarters.

My husband and I wanted to stay at a hotel near enough to take advantage of visiting Disneyland without being so close that we couldn't escape the Disney vortex. The Ayres Hotel Anaheim fit that bill perfectly!

The hotel was incredibly comfortable. The room we stayed in was at the far end of the hall--very quiet and private. The room itself was very spacious! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was adequate. The breakfast in the morning was great--hot items likes waffles or pancakes as well as scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage or bacon, and an assortment of continental breakfast goods--all free! The evening happy hours was nice too--free beer, wine, chips/salsa/guacamole, and cookies. The hotel also features free parking and free wifi. Let's be honest... anytime you can get something free, it's fabulous.

The location of the hotel was also perfect! It was a quick 10 minutes to Disneyland and a short 10 minute walk to the Angels Stadium (we caught a baseball game while we were there. It was right off the freeway for easy movement to other parts of town.

The hotel is part of the Anaheim ART system, so it's easy to buy ART passes and ride a shuttle to Disneyland (no hassles with parking). It was $5 per adult per day (and $3 per children... I think), and multi-day passes were available for a discount. The front desk people were very helpful in giving us advice about fun things to do and how best to navigate the amusement park.

My one complaint was that housekeeping could be a bit slow to clean rooms. There were some days where we left in the morning, were gone for several hours, and came back to a room that still hadn't been serviced. That said, housekeeping did always make it our room, just not always quickly.

Overall, we were really satisfied with this hotel and would certainly stay again. The price was great, the amenities plentiful, and the rooms quiet and spacious. I would strongly recommend.
