“Comfortable and relaxing”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Room was comfortable and clean although not luxurious. Breakfast was excellent with cooked eggs and meat(alternated between sausage and bacon) and delicious muffins. Staff were polite and friendly. All in all this was a very relaxing hotel and I really enjoyed it.

I would stay here again.

Visited Staybridge Suites last week. Very complete stay. Complimentary offerings: parking, internet, breakfast, adult beverage at night, meal a couple of nights a week. Full size refrigerator, microwave, stove top, and a small assortment of plates, silverware, and pans. It is on a feeder road for the I-5 on-ramp, so it is pretty bare. But there is a number of restaurants close by. Good sized room with an additional folding sofa bed. AAA rate was very competitive. Pool is shared with the Holiday Inn next door. Didn't check out the fitness center. Enjoyed the stay, look forward to using it for another stay in the future!

I'm not sure how many readers have experience with Staybridge hotels, which is IHG's (Holiday Inn) "semi-upscale" extended stay chain. If you've stayed in a Staybridge, you'll know what to expect. This property follows their formula, so you get a good free breakfast buffet with some changing variety (better than what you'd get at a Holdiay Inn Express, worse than what you'd pay for at a 4-star hotel), a nice-but-not-luxurious suite with cooking facilities, and some free evening food on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Given all their Disney traffic, the staff here seemed a bit more harried than most Staybridges, but they were friendly and helpful when they weren't over-run with guest requests.

I'm sure many families will want to know whether this is a good hotel to stay at for Disney. I'd say "yes," with the only disadvantage being that you can't walk to Disney from the hotel. It doesn't seem like Anaheim hotels are allowed to offer their own Disney shuttles, so you have to rely on the over-priced and under-scheduled public bus system. You'll probably do better driving to Disney's parking facilities, which are expensive ($16), hectic, but also bearable. If you're not spending much time at the hotel, walking to Disney would be helpful. But if you are spending time at your hotel outside of Disney, the Staybridge rooms give you a little extra space. And their pool area, which they share with the adjacent Holiday Inn, is large and pleasant.

My only real fault with the hotel are the breakfast hours. They follow the Staybridge policy of not opening the buffet until 7:30 on the weekends. That causes a massive, overcrowded rush at 7:30 with families racing to Disney's 9 am open. On the otherhand, their weekday buffet ends too early at 9:30, causing a rush of sleepy families to descend right at closing. Management should probably just do the buffet from 7 to 10 EVERY morning, or extend the hours a little further.

We had a spacious suite with one king bed, two queen beds and one sleeper sofa for our family of 6. The price was right, including free breakfast buffet. It was close to Disney but we did drive to the parks as the bus was not too frequent and the walk was long. It is a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel so you do get "magic hours," which were lost on us - who goes to the park at 7am??? The Anaheim Angels Stadium is very close by as well. We met up with friends whose family of 5 stayed in a smaller suite. I'd definitely recommend the two bedroom suite for families of 5 -7. Our only regret is that we stayed in Santa Monica for the last two days of our vacation, where we paid 3x the price per night with far less amenities. We caught a Dodgers game while staying in Anaheim and the drive is not long so I'd skip the LA hotels next time and commute if traveling with a family.

Room Tip: Go for the two-bedroom suite - it's worth the extra money, which is not too much more.

We booked this Disney Good Neighbor hotel because the Disney Resort hotels were full. This hotel was cheaper than Disney Resort, and the included Anaheim Resort Transit passes worked out well. The other plus was that this hotel was SUPER quiet. The walls are insulated well! I could hear people in the room next to us through their door in the hallway, but once I walked into our suite, there was absolutely NO noise coming from that room. The continental breakfast was very good! Wide selection and complete with a variety of eggs, meats, etc.

Here are the negatives:
The rooms were not ready at 4:00 check-in. We were given a SMOKING room without our approval, and the desk staff was not very congenial. Coffee in the lobby was supposed to be available, but if one gets up and going by 6:15, plan to make your own in your room as the staff didn't have it ready, and they showed no interest in doing so. The floors were not vacuumed in our suite when we arrived, and the nightstand had sticky rings left on it! The evening desk clerks were more helpful and had smiles, at least.

In the end, I am not sure I would choose a Staybridge Hotel. I especially will not choose this one.

We stayed here for 5 nights when visiting Disneyland. The hotel is overwhelmed with the number of visitors and you can feel that the staff is doing their best to keep up. We stayed in 1 bedroom king suite, and it was nice, clean and specious. However, The breakfast area and common facilities is a mess, and it is obvious that they are way understaffed.

The hotel staff was friendly and had a free cookout one night while we were here. The main pool and jacuzzi were adequate. The rooms were standard with either a view of the highway (front) or the pool and trailer park (back), so if you really want nice views this isn't the hotel for you. On the other hand, there were tons of families with kids - so if you have children you will fit right in. Also the shuttle bus to/from Disneyland stopped at the hotel next door (Holiday Inn), so it was conveniently located a few easy steps away. The bus was very crowded at times, so if you don't like squeezing in - you may want to rent a car. Fortunately the park was only a few miles away so the bus ride was quick.
