Candy Cane Inn is a great small place to stay while in Anaheim. Priced a little higher than some rooms in the area, but once you factor in the free continental breakfast, price is on par or cheaper than what you would pay for most other rooms and breakfast at Disneyland. Rooms clean and well maintained. Great staff and service and if you need transportation to the park, they have a free shuttle every half hour. We only stay here when we visit Anaheim and we will be back in August.

Thank you for staying with us! You are absolutely correct in that our rates are pretty much all inclusive. We do not charge for parking, breakfast, shuttle service to Disneyland, internet access, or resort fees. We cannot wait to have you back in August and thank you again for staying at the Candy Cane Inn!

My wife and I (from Australia) spent 5 nights at the Candy Cane Inn over Easter 2012.

We arrived at about 11am knowing that it was unlikely that our room would be available (and it wasn't), they allowed us to park onsite and we walked up to Disneyland (about 15 minute walk) and checked in later in the day (they offered to call when the room was available, however we declined this offer).

The room was clean and tidy, the usual amenities were available (coffee making facilities, refrigerator etc).

I agree with the other reviews that some protein would have come in handy, however a banana, bagel, yoghurt and coffee was a good enough start to the day for me.

Our only contact with housekeeping was when I had inadvertently left the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door. When we returned in the evening I called housekeeping and a full set of fresh towels appeared at our door within 5 minutes. Certainly no complaints there.

The other service we utilised was the shuttle bus. We caught the bus at various times ranging from 8am to 12:15am and had no problems at all - and on the occasions that we missed the bus it was an easy walk to the park.

If we again adventure to Disneyland we will certainly stay at the Candy Cane Inn.

We stayed here for 5 nights when we were going to Disneyland & it was a great choice! If nothing else the location and free shuttles would have made it worthwhile, but the rest of the hotel was lovely as well. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were divine with lots of pillows and spare blankets if you needed it. We had a few issues with neighbouring rooms' showers waking us up, but that was a minimal discomfort. The staff were all amazingly helpful and friendly.
We also used the pool, which was a nice refresher after a full day of walking around Disneyland. The same could be said for the bathrooms, which are spacious and fitted with lots of fluffy towels. The only small complaint would be that there is no elevator, so if you are staying with large and or heavy bags it might be best to request a ground floor room. But considering we were two 22 year old girls with almost oversize bags, we managed to get our bags up and down, if slowly.

Long review. Here is every thing I would have liked to know when I booked it. I selected this hotel based on rating from tripadvisor.
We stayed at the Candy Cane over the Easter weekend (parks were very crowded) for a total of 8 nights. Our room was very clean. The bathroom has the sink split from shower/toilet area allowing one person to brush teeth etc. while another showers. The sink area has generous counter space over 6 feet long with full width and depth storage underneath. Towels were good quality. Shower had good pressure and head. Our room 151 is a deluxe double queen was in the far back corner for quiet. We did not have much noise from neighbors in this location, but being in a completely enclosed hall, all noise from the parking lot and office next door was amplified which acted as a drum so we would not stay in the same room again. The rooms are very well insulated. Noise is when people are talking and laughing (kids crying) on way to rooms, once people close the door to their room, the sound stops immediately. We heard very little noise above us.
Folks with kids should stay at the front of the complex near the pool and shuttle bus. Folks who want quiet should stay near the back. The complex is small compared to some neighboring hotels, so the farthest room is only half the distance to the lobby as some hotels. The premium rooms are across the back of the horseshoe shaped complex. They are larger, upscale and have more amenities. The few King rooms book quickly as each has an adjoining room for families. I did not see a standard room, but expect these are at the front of the complex near the pool.
The excellent front desk is very responsive, knowledgeable and friendly at all times of the day and night. During our stay we had several issues that were all dealt with promptly. We had to check out at 5 AM for our flight and found the front desk awake and friendly. If you get an upstairs room, take advantage of the front desk to help with taking your bags upstairs. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room was ready when we arrived at 2PM. We had been assured when booking that if we had arrived before our room was ready they would hold our bags for us. Park ticket purchase is prompt and easy and is charged against your credit card on your room statement for easy tracking. Free WIFI is sketchy – possibly because the high voltage power lines for the parks are nearby . The free Candy Cane shuttle runs every half hour and is very convenient. We had a 5 day hopper pass and also took the shuttle our first day we checked out Downtown Disney (no needed pass to see it). We often returned to the room during the day (some days more than once) and found planning around the shuttle times easy. We missed it once on our way into the park and once on return so we walked. The walk is not bad as the property is on the corner of the property containing Disney's California Adventure (Harbor and Katella) and being on the same side as the park there is not street to cross, so no light to wait for. If you are familiar with the park it is the distance from the main gate to Small World. The only downside is a the carpet looks worn. Maintenance on the rest of the room was very good. Maintenance of the grounds also very good. We paid $149/night plus taxes for a total of $174.33/night which really adds up for such a long stay. As noted in other reviews, there are several free amenities that make the price worthwhile, primarily free parking. As we do not bring a car, the free parking value ($8/night other hotels) and free breakfast (*see below) did not apply to us. We enjoyed our stay but might consider someplace cheaper directly across the street from the park on our next stay. *We did not find a continental breakfast useful (need high protein) so we walked kitty corner across the street to IHOP for breakfast. This was expensive. We discovered that Subway (across the street) has excellent breakfast sandwiches Cheap so we ate breakfast there our last few days. Next door to Subway is a very good eatery called Burgerland which is inexpensive and also serves chicken sandwiches, and beef and chicken rice plates etc. In the same shopping center there is also a pizza restaurant, a Chinese restaurant and a Mexican restaurant which we did not try. We had several excellent dinners at IHOP. Directly next door to Candy Cane is an ABC market and a 7-11 which we stopped at daily for gallons of water and incidentals. Suggestion to management: It would take a structural change to correct it, so not something that can be easily changed: The concrete overhead in front of the office is too low for the shuttle so it must drive all the way around the complex parking lot every half hour. This is more dangerous for pedestrians and backing out of parking spaces and is more noisy than it could be.

Room Tip: Folks with kids should stay at the front of the complex near the pool and shuttle bus. Folks who wan...

I watched the reviews on this place for months before I made the reservations and the family and I finally arrived. We were here over Easter Weekend and loved it. The location could not be beat. The breakfast was good, I used little trays in the room to bring it back to our room and patio outside the room to eat each morning. the staff was great, the drivers were amazing and enough can not be said about the location. Disney a heartbeat away, shopping, restraunts, etc so close. Free parking, in room safe, and wonderful housekeeping. This is a must visit. We truly hope to come back again sometime!!!!

Room Tip: I think all rooms were great. We loved that ours was back to disney and had a little patio with a n...

This place was just perfect for our stay and trip to Disneyland. After staying on site when we went to DisneyWorld in the fall, it was nice to have an affordable option that was away from Disney, but still a close enough walk (10 minutes from CC to main gate). The staff was very friendly. Check-in was smooth. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The parking was free and not a hassle. We were even able to keep our car in the lot past check out time on our last day. There was a shuttle that ran every 30 minutes to and from the parks. Our room was on the first floor right next to the bus stop, but we were not bothered by that at all. The free breakfast in the morning had bagels, donuts, cereal, fruit, coffee, etc. It was simple, easy, convenient and helped save a little money on breakfast. Overall it's not fancy, but you can tell the ownership takes pride in their property and make this a nice place for families to stay. If you are going to Disneyland and staying overnight this is the place to be. If we ever go back to Disneyland from Chicago, then we will definitely stay here.

Took the family to Disneyland last week and stayed at the Candy Cane Inn. Upon arrival we had a couple problems with the room. I thought oh great here we go, we have a had a couple bad experiences with hotels around disneyland in the past. The fornt desk was friendly helpful and quick to resolve the issues unlike some others we have had to deal with. The location was great, room was clean and spacious. The free shuttle to the park really came in handy! When we got back to the room the second night there was a letter from the general manager Jeff Holl stating that if we had any problems or needed anything to contact him directly. I thought that was nice of him and showed they really cared. Also there are free candy canes everywhere, how can you beat that! I have already recommended the candy cane to friends going in september and we will be back as well.
