We stayed at The Anabella in March 2013 for 2 nights to go to the Disneyland parks with our nieces for a couple days. The lobby staff is friendly and helpful. For the price if you get a good deal, it's a fair place to stay.

Pros: Great location, across the street from the Disney properties, we walked (about 15 minutes) into Downtown Disney and the parks each day. It was rather perfect during the cooler weather. They also have a restaurant on the property, The Tangerine. We had breakfast there one morning and it was average but service was good. The tangerine juice is pretty good too. They also have a pool. I also really like the soap and shampoo provided in the rooms.

Average: The room was a bit worn and dated. We had loose handles on the faucet in the bathroom, it was showing some wear and tear. The bed was OK and the room was pretty small. The one we got was the full queen but we were only there to sleep so it didn't matter too much.

One thing I noticed was that the parking lot is full during the day because they let park visitors park there for $15 dollar a day. Late at night spots open up. The staff also didn't do up our room the first day and had to request it at the front desk, probably just an oversight.

Since Downtown Disney is so close, we just ate breakfast at one of the other places there. There's also Jamba Juice, Wetzel's Pretzels, and a few restaurants as well so there's plenty of places to grab food mid day and evening. A few places are open in the AM on the way in to the park. Also there's places out on the public streets on the way in plenty of places.

Room Tip: I heard the suites with multiple rooms are updated and better than the average rooms.

I stayed at the Anabella for an event in January. The lobby was in nice condition, and the rooms were a pleasant surprise. The hardwood floors and upgraded linens both set this property apart. I usually stay in the Disney hotels and the Anabella is a nice option.

The property and rooms were extremely clean. The only thing I would change is the small gift shop next to the lobby which was not always open when I wanted it to be, but there are options right around the corner.

I ate in the restaurant twice and the food was very good both times.

I dropped back by two weeks ago for a surprise inspection and saw many types of rooms, which were all in pristine condition. The Anabella had no knowledge that I was coming in.

The walk to the Disneyland resort from the Anabella is a very nice one. It almost feels like your own private walkway, with twinkle lights that line the walkway at night.

My travel agent arranged this hotel for us. The first thing I would say is that it is set up like a motel, not a hotel, which I didn't anticipate. I personally prefer entry to my room from an interior hallway. I read other reviews before we went that expressed concerns about the interior condition of the rooms. Yes, the wallpaper is a bit outdated, but it was clean and a comfortable room. Considering we spent all of our time at Disney and not in our room I think it was perfectly acceptable. We were upgraded from the Casita suite to the Mission suite upon checking, which was nice. You have to pay for parking and they give you vouchers for breakfast. The vouchers are limited but you can still get a good breakfast for it. Eggs, potatoes, choice of meat and toast. We opted to get food to go from their restaurant, which was affordable and tasty. The portion size was pretty large though. We would have split it had we known. We didn't interact much with the staff though they were friendly when we did. We also didn't use the pool areas but they looked nice. My boyfriend visited the bar area and thought it was a nice atmosphere and a that the staff were friendly and accommodating. The drinks were also priced well. It is reasonable walk to the park and a reasonable price for our hotel stay. We would stay there again but if you want a luxury hotel this is not the place to stay.

Our family of four could not have found a better place at a reasonable price, with a simple walk to Disneyland. It provided the perfect oasis away from the crowds without compromising comfort cleanliness and hospitality. Our conceirge suite was clean, and spacious enough for us to stay in for 10 nights! Noise was never a problem but if it were..... hello you're in Disneyland!!! Great food on site with good happy hour specials(necessity!!!!) We cant wait to stay here again!!!!

We stayed 3rd week of May for 2 nights. We loved our room. They have different types of rooms to choose from depending on what your needs are/looking for. It wasn't unusually noisy like I had read in other reviews. You could hear people walk by in front of your room, no biggie. (Days later we stayed at a 4 1/2 star resort in diff't city and I can say that it was the same way...you could still hear people walk by..) Beds were nice. Very clean. Building was charming, pool was nice. Staff was excellent! Tatiana at front desk was so helpful!. Natalia welcomed us in lobby, so kind and yet professional. Darwin, the concierge, was outside always asking people if they needed any questions answered, giving people directions, aside from helping with luggage. He was very sweet. And I could see the other staff always helping people outside giving them directions. Walk to Disney convenient. We have 1yr & 4yr old and a double seat stroller, so it was not a bad walk for us adults. Can't say a toddler would enjoy that walk if actually "walking" it. Small leak in tub, but it didn't bother us. Nice bathroom. It worked for us!

Room Tip: Research the different rooms they offer before booking

Dear Mamma2_13,

Thank you for reviewing our hotel on Trip Advisor. We have 14 different room types here, something for every type of traveler. We are right across the street from Disneyland so excited families and children are not uncommon throughout the property. We are so happy you found our staff to be excellent and your comments will definitely be passed along to them. Thank you again Mamma2_13 and we hope you stay again soon!

Room was musty and items seemed worn. Bed sheets gave my wife an allergic reaction of some kind. Paid almost $200 for a room (plus parking) for a one-night stay during the middle of the week. What i got for that amount was a motel-like experience: cheap, felt old and unclean.

This place is probably good for families who want to save money while taking the kids to Disneyland. For couples looking for a nice time together, shell out the bigger bucks to one of the other hotels in the area.
