La Quinta Inn & Suites Anaheim
Ranked #52 of 118 Hotels in Anaheim

We are repeat customers to the La Quinta Santa Ana. While the Anaheim La Quinta does not have the same 'charm', it is more convenient in terms of being walking distance to Disneyland. There is a free parking garage, king suite room w/ sleeper sofa a plus, and price was reasonable. The morning breakfast is quite busy with folks trying to get to Disneyland at opening time, but hotel staff worked hard to keep food options available and ready for fast turn around. Only areas of improvement noted: could offer free shuttle to the park rather than paid public transit that picks up in parking lot BEHIND the hotel, could rearrange breakfast layout to maximize traffic flow, and could add blanket/pillow to the rooms that have sleeper sofa. Overall, highly recommend and would gladly return.

We stayed at LaQuinta for 3 nights while visiting Disneyland. We booked it based on price and proximity but started to have second thoughts after reading some less-than-stellar reviews. But by that time other options were either booked or much more expensive so we went ahead with our plans. I was pleasantly surprised and all worked out fine. When we were there the hotel was quiet and we all slept well. It seemed fairly clean as well. The front desk staff was nice, helpful. And the walk to the park was very do-able. We were traveling with teenagers. It might be a long walk for small children at the end of the day. (There is a shuttle available for $3/person one way if you choose that instead.) Some reviewers mentioned parking problems but we had none. The pool didn't look very inviting (semi outdoors in a structure that looked like a garage) but we didn't have time for it anyway. I agree that the breakfast is pretty fair and can get very crowded close to the closing time of 9am weekdays. For the price this hotel was an excellent value and worked out fine. We walked by a Marriott Residence Inn just a block down the street that looked nice. If we did this trip again I might look into that if we wanted something a bit more plush.

The staff at this La Quinta are very friendly and helpful. The location is close to Disneyland. Other than that this hotel was very disappointing. It is very run down and yet still expensive. The one room suite that we had booked was designed very poorly. The bathroom was near the entry with the sink outside of the toilet shower area. The room with the king size bed therefore had the bathroom sink in it. The sitting area with the pull out couch was divided from the king size bed area by a sliding door that was widowed and had a sheer curtain. So there wasn't any privacy between rooms. The sliding door also was also broken and very difficult to slide open or shut. The dumpster for the hotel is right next to the lobby and elevator. You could see the trash. Including old furniture piled in the area. This hotel had a very old and worn out feel to it. Couches with flattened cushions, old matresses, and old bathroom plumbing fixtures. The bathtub / shower was so hard to turn on it took two hands.

Room Tip: The one room suite does not offer privacy for the adults.

This is an ok hotel. We chose for our trip to Disneyland for three main reasons: 1) Price (~100/night) 2) free breakfast in the morning 3) proximity to Disneyland. The breakfast is the morning was fine: usual cereal, breads, coffee, and juices. They also had waffles.

As far as the distance to disneyland, it looks closer on the map that it actually is. It is right on the border of being walkable: about 20 min walk which is fine in the morning but was too long on the way back after walking in the park all day. There is an ART shuttle which has a stop at the hotel but I think, if you are ok with the walk in the morning, a cab at night might be the best option: no waiting for the shuttle or driving around to other hotels.

The room itself was ok. We got a jr suite type of a room with a king size bed in the main room and sofa pull out in the other room. There was a siding door separating the two rooms. One weird thing was that the bathroom sink was in the main room.

The cleaning staff did not always replace the soap/shampoo or give new towels. I had to get them from the front desk a couple of times.

We genrally stay at Holiday Inn and Best Western types of hotels so it's not like we expect anything grand from a hotel. But even by those standards, I would just this to be an average hotel. For our next trip, we will stay someplace else. Not because it was a horrible place, but there was nothing about it that would make us go back to it.
