While the food here is mainly chain restaraunt type fare, it still has the Disney atmosphere to add a little zest. Unique shops and fun and interesting kiosks (we did the characatures) along with pretty good entertainment make this a great primer for the parks and a great last stop before leaving for home and getting that last Disney fix.

Downtown Disney has no rides but contains several restaurants and shops. It is not that this place is bad but it is essentially an open air mall. There are several good restaurants along here and the Lego store has some great Disneyland themed life-size sets in front. So if you need some food or to go shopping this is the place to go.

We like to hop the Monorail to get into the park... Also a great way to take a park break and Napoli Pizza Rocks!

This area was very crowded. The food places were all very expensive-typical Disneyland prices. It was also very loud. There were 2 or 3 people playing music/singing on stages at the same time, so it was hard to hear one from the other. There was also background music playing over the speakers at the same time.

While Disneyland and California Disney get most of the attention, this "3rd park" should not be missed as there is plenty to do. It may not have singing pirates or dropping elevators, but there are lots of fun restaurants and shops to enjoy. The kids loved the Rainforest Cafe, which offers some tasty food and drink choices in a fun atmosphere. I'm not much of a shopper, but I did enjoy at least peeking into some of the interesting shops such as the Disney Vault, Something Silver, and World of Disney. After spending some time "Downtown", it was nice to board the monorail right next to Rainforest Cafe and head back into Disneyland's Tomorrowland.
